This team tends to have trouble with the obvious! I'm a pretty honest homer still thinking we can legitimately turn stuff around, but this defense for years, has made it tough on legit QB's on the average, and turned never Beens into HOF CALIBER QB's... If not for more than just one game! They seriously can't buy into Dick's stats and neither should Dick! They're gonna have their work cut out for them so they better be ready!

Bit of both. The Jets are better this year than last year, and Atlanta is pretty bad right now.

The Jets blow this lead and lose it will be huge letdown for them on a short week

Giants are playing far worse then us, can't get near the QB and that's been their bread and butter. Jags are worse then us too but not sure what their pass rush is.

We're not getting the sacks but we're getting pressures and hurries and there is more to DL's defense then rushing the QB, he disguises coverages. It's not just rookies either, the only QB to have a decent game against us yet this season is Dalton. The first two threw for around a buck fifty and last week Castle only went over 200 yards because one pass was for 5 yards that the WR turned into 70.

Atlanta has a lot of injuries. When they get healthy, they will be a very good team. It's just whether they can get it together in time to make the playoffs

Well, that's in the past. Rookie or inexperienced QBs can now pick this D apart.

Not true, Dalton had the best game for like 285 yards, even that is pretty tame by todays standards.

Ben better hope that his O-Line gets it together over this bye week or he will be in for a very long day. I'd like to see him pump fake often to get the CB's off the receivers but I;m afraid he won't have time. JETS D brought it tonight. The refs were all but gift wrappping the game for the Falcons but NY still won and deservingly so. Atlanta was completely out coached and out played.

The Jets looked good but Atlanta is a 1-4 team. Next week should be interesting.

The Jets have that fire. The Steelers don't. I don't feel good about this game. The only thing i'm hanging my Steeler hat on is that every game I have attended they have won. Can't wait to tailgate going with some Steeler friends to root on the Black and Gold. They need all the help they can get.

The Jets D might make it a long day though.

That's going to be our problem when we play the Jets. Their D line against our O line. Two second year players, off the street center, guy we just picked up a week ago, injured left guard and a 7th round pick from SMU. All we can do is pray.:praying:

The only thing we got going this week is that the Jets have a short week...

My point was that Atlanta is not a good team this year. Tons of injuries.

I dont think it matters that we just picked Brown up. Did we not pick up Velasco as well and he seems to be playing quite well

I am not so worried about our D this week for some reason. Maybe its because they were so bad the last time they played and I feel like they will come out pissed? I could be wrong. Now, the OL has me really worried in this game. I hope there is a get the ball out of Ben's hands FAST game plan coming or we are in TROUBLE.

Neither am I, they usually keep us in games, last week was an anomaly, the last game I remember them performing like that was the Tebow game. I agree with you, the OL is the big issue, will the tackles be up to the task this week?

it always amazes me that people still make excuses for the defense. granted 8 turnovers puts the defense in a bad spot, but their defense hasnt done much to help the offense either for about 2 years now. the defense is not good anymore. changes need to be made.

Holy crap, making excuses???? 8 freaking turnovers, you might want to sight a different game, real surprising that a rookie QB won that game. You guys are funny.

I know, the offense sucks so bad that it is now up to the defense to score for them too.

I think we lose and it is because of the lack of OL play and the lack of pressure and turnovers on the defense. Geno Smith can cut us apart with our DB's playing 10 yards off the line of scrimmage. He will complete slant pass after slant pass along with the WR screen all day long. That last drive to set up the field goal is exactly how they should and will attack the Steelers defense.

    Locker: 125 yards 0 TD
    Dalton: 285 yards 1 TD
    Cutler 159 yards 1 TD
Castle 248 yards 2 TD (keep in mind, 70 of those yards came after a 5 yard catch)

No one is cutting us to pieces, Smith won't either.

He doesn't have to "cut us to pieces" which should be pretty obvious from your stats.

Those QB's just took care of the ball and completed 5 yard passes (which are there because we don't bump at the line) to convert first downs. Geno Smith is capable of that... Bilal Powell has played pretty well and our run D has looked pretty bad other than Cincy (which beat us more by passing to their RB's).

The Jets have a very underrated front 7. Muhammed Wilkerson and Quinton Coples are studs and they're in just their first couple of seasons. Their run defense is dominant, and will likely force us into a lot of 3rd and longs... Geno basically has to just not screw it up.

I appreciate the data, but it does not tel the whole story. I'd like to know how many punts the opposition has had in each of those games. And time of possession as well.
