Who is the last Belichick assistant to succeed elsewhere?

Parity reigns supreme but the 5-11 (not 8-8) Ravens beat the Steelers twice last year. The 2-14 Bucs (not 8-8) beat the Steelers in 2014. The 4-12 Jets (not 8-8) beat the Steelers in 2014 as well. In 2013 the 5-10-1 Vikings (not 8-8) and 4-12 Raiders (not 8-8) beat the Steelers. In 2012 the 4-12 Raiders (not 8-8) and 5-11 Browns (not 8-8) beat the Steelers.

That's two losses per year the last four years to teams that finished with 5 or fewer wins.

Is this the guy that keeps coming back with facts, Glenn?

This year the Coach of the Year Bruce Arians, Super Bowl Contending Arizona Cardinals have LOST to the:
    0-2 Bills
    1-2 Rams
    1-4 Jets

OH MY GOD BRUCE ARIANS CAN'T WIN THE GAMES HE'S SUPPOSED TO WIN.... CALL THE PRESS!!!!!

HOLD ON... let's look at 2015, maybe this is a 3 game anomaly....
    2015 Lost to....

holy ****... what do we have here... losses to the...
    1-2 Rams
    and the
3-2 Steelers.... but... but it was with Landry Mallet Vick. How could this be. Losing to backup QBs, thats only something that happens with awful coaches like Mike Tomlin.

what would happen if we looked back another year...

    2014....

AHHHHHHH it can't be, a loss to the 4-7 Falcons????? no, say it aint so.

I do not understand why all the Tomlin animosity floodgates have opened and we are starting to enter the midway point.

Regardless of what we think, Tomlin has been proven to be nothing but a success thus far. Boasting one of the NFL's highest winning percentages is one thing, but to not have a losing season is another.

Not many coaches can claim they have not had one; fewer a super bowl ring.

Thsee should also be the measures fans hold him to as well.

Alas... such accomplishments are forgotten in this world's current ethos:

"What have you done for me lately?"

The NFC Championship with Colin Kaepernick as his QB. And dang near the Super Bowl as well. What would he do with a quarterback like Ben?

Don't disagree with your last sentence. There was apparently no love lost between him and the Niners organization.

    Jim "Crybaby" Harbaugh?

    Not just no. HELL NO.

My honeymoon with Tomlin has been over for a long time. But I wouldn't replace him with just anyone (which I admit kinda torpedos my animosity towards him when there's really nobody realistic available I'd replace him with), and definitely not with that jagoff.

If Harbaugh ever comes back to the NFL, it should be for Green Bay. You need some Cheese(heads) with that much whine.

If Cowher didn't want to leave he would still be coaching the Steelers. Unless an epic collapse of many consecutive seasons Tomlin is here to stay.

    Like him or not.

For my recollection/experience Tomlin is easily persuaded by the home fans to throw it. I don't recall any being particularly damaging though.

The thing that drives me nuts is the fakes in short yardage situations and the clock management.

Do you really think Harbaugh ever got over missing the 1995 season SB on that last play of the game against the Steelers in the playoffs? He'd be a regular Mata Hari if he ever donned the Blank and Gold. Fagetaboutit!

It's like the board has turned into the bashtomlin.com message board. Almost every thread devolves into a debate about whether he sucks or rules.

To me, the bothersome thing about losing to teams with bad records is not simply that we lose to them. Yes that happens all over the league. It's "how" we lose to them that bothers me. A Tomlin team can look awesome one week and look like a completely different team the next. Whether that's "Tomlin's fault" or the "fault of the players" I don't know and neither does anyone else. The bottom line is the NFL is more of a"matchups" league than anything else. We didn't have Cam Heyward in the fins game and they ran it down our throats. Maybe he would have matched up better against their line than say McCullers or Gravedigger or any other backup. Also Decastro had a really tough matchup against Suh. Also didn't AV have to try and block Cameron Wake? Now maybe the teams that the fins had given so many yards up to had some really strong linemen that matched up well against Suh and Wake? Maybe we all just expect since we have the best wr in the league, best rb in the league, and one of the best qb's in the league that it is reasonable to expect them to show up and dominate every week. That is somewhat reasonable in the sense that they can only be contained so much but still there are players that might match up well against their skill set. Remember a few years ago when the gnats beat the pats? The d line of NY dominated up front and that was really the difference. They just matched up well against that pats offensive front. Even when NE did beat them in week 17 they still pushed them to the limit in that game. I really think that game right there was where the pats lost the Super Bowl. It was like NY realized in that game that they matched up well and exploited the crap out of it the next time they played them. I would say Tomlin's job is to help our guys realize their strengths in each matchup and expect them to execute accordingly.

Harbaugh is a-hole he couldn't get along with his GM, I live in Northern CA there were tons of rumors and reports of problems during his tenure.

There were reports out this week Harbaugh package with Michigan totals 9 million a year, making him the highest paid coach in college. There's no way he will leave college anytime soon, the NFL doesn't pay HC that much. Harbaugh also is a booger eater, he got busted during a game this season.

Indeed. Personally I do not understand the malice.. but then again, maybe it is a good thing that some phenomenons are unexplained given their unusual beginnings.

I literally just read a local CBS article that said if we don't get it together this season that Tomlin could be looking for a job at the end of this season. Wow. Even WE all know that's nonsense. Then in the comments people were talking about how Haley has been terrible and Tomlin is "too loyal" to him and needs to let him go. He only helped to make us one of the most lethal offenses in the game but yeah he's totally horrible. Danny Cox wrote the article. Is he like a Hollywood beat writer or something?
