If you don't see the difference between those 2 rosters at the start of their career.....

Cowher inherited an average team in 1992. Tomlin inherited an elite AFC, Super Bowl caliber team in 2007 with franchise QB and coaching staff in place. Just the facts. :icon e ugeek:

Unless you saw me saying Tomlin's record against Vrabel or McVay is irrelevant, that has no business in responding to my post.

Do you really think Brady was the reason the Patriots won the Super Bowl in 2001? Brady fumbled away one playoff game against the Raiders only to have the officials bail him out. Then he stunk against the Steelers right up to the point they knocked him out of the game. Yes, he led them on a clutch drive for the winning field goal late in that Super Bowl, but he didn't do much until that point. In the first 58 minutes of that game, Brady didn't even have 100 yards passing. The defense that held the Greatest Show on Turf to 17 points while recording a pick-six off Kurt Warner was the deciding factor in that game. Belichick's defense.

Tomlin inherited a team that went 6-6 the year before he arrived, then lost both outside linebackers.

Also in 2003,the pats defense had 4 interception vs Manning in the AFC title game.Manning was on fire in the 2 previous playoffs game that year. The titans with co-mvp(McNair) had also only 14 points. And in 2004,the colts score only 3 points against the pats.

Brady deserve credit for the super bowl against the panthers in 2003 but this is the same thing for Belichick against the rams in 2018.The first 3 super bowl was more about Belichick and the last 3 was more on Brady but both had their moment in both run

Down year can happen in the NFL...Just look at the chiefs last year,49ers in 2020 and 2024 and steelers in 2009...I can said several other example....Not rare a team goes to the super bowl one year, down year the year after and bounce back after that
