I wish TJ and Harrison could start at OLB...

If you noticed on the strip sack at the end of the game, they had Harrison on the left and TJ on the right. I feel like this combo would be more effective going forward than TJ left and Dupree right.

The main reason I would like to see Harrison is that I think he would help with the run game. He obviously can rush too. I just wouldn't have him dropping into coverage much against fast TEs and RBs.

    Thoughts?

I like having both out there but one of the few times I did see Harrison out there in run support he held the edge but didn't have the speed to catch the running back at the line of scrimmage and he got the corner and VW had to run him down for a 7 yard gain. I think it has to be a slow lumbering back or just situational pass rushing

Was thinking that as well. Deebo rusty. Saw a play he didn’t contain a run and went outside for 7-8 Yards. Conversely, Dupree seemed to contain backs from outside tonight, but no backers to step up to make any tackles.

Why can’t we stop the run? It’s infuriating, even more so than giving up big pass plays

Read an article that said our scheme now has backers drop into pass coverage a lot, and Deebo is a liability in that area. It is confusion by a D that seems to be order of the day, and every qb knows deebo is coming for him. No confusion there.

It's funny, that seemed to be the theme of the day that our olb aren't the main pass rushers anymore...

But look who iced the game with a sack fumble? Watt!

It's crazy how Cam, Tuitt, and Grave have slid these last few games. When Cinci was pounding us on the ground last week I knew Balt would do the same, they always seem to run the ball well against us.

The job of the Steelers line for decades was to open holes for our linebackers to make the tackles. Steelers do not have linebackers other than a rookie who will be a star. We lost our other star and that star was huge.

Early on it was OLBs not playing their gaps and overpursuing. They seemed to fix that, but now, it's about depth at MLB - we have relied on Shazier's speed a lot, and with injuries we now have guys who are playing out of position, new, or simply not that good. So it's not a surprise that there's been a drop off there.

He did. He may still be fast. But he's only just back in the fold, so hopefully there's some improvement there next week.

Ok you're confusing the heck outta me. Bud had played on the left and TJ on the right all season. On that last play wasn't Harrison on the right and TJ on the left?

Yes, but maybe the other guy was talking from the offensive side. I think TJ surprised their right tackle with his speed. I thought it was a brilliant move at that stage of the game.

Tomlins speech during the game you could see him say " wrap up the tackle" Porter was saying " Wrap up the f______ tackle"

Yes on the last play, TJ was in for Dupree on the left side and Harrison om the right side where TJ normally plays. TJ came all the way around to make that tackle,,something Dupree has never done.

Dupree has seemed quite ineffective to me at times. I know it's a different position, but why not try him on the inside? He's not really getting too much done on the outside. Maybe he can use his athleticism in space more as an ILB?

Dupree can force everything inside because he practically runs to the side lines.....he need to be better and make some plays....I throw Tuitt in the mix as well

We can't expect Harrison to come in and dominate right away. You gotta give him a chance to get his legs under him and to get in some sort of flow. All that time off does no one any good

That is no longer their job. About 3 years ago they released the DEs to get the up field.
