Ben was a god awful and obviously didn't give a crap. He is not elite but not this bad. His head has is not in the games, and he has been folding like a cheap suit behind a collapsing line. He was just giving up and taking the sacks with little effort to avoid them. It was sorta like, "Okay Haley, you want me to play conservatively, I will just crumble or make wild throws." (and miss open guys by 15 yards).

I am glad this season is over.

Saves us the pain of hyping up a road game against the Pats. That would have been 50-0.

This team was going nowhere. At least by missing a playoff spot, none of the problems will be ignored. Heads should roll and the roster should be blown up.

ben is slow to read the field there were 4 or 5 times he was looking down the field with a rb wide open for 5 yards , i suspect is too stupid to understand a playbook that has more than five plays , for that he was so unhappy when arians left , now we have a problem or he become more clever or we have to draw a stupid playbook

The biggest question that needs to be answered is how did it all go South? There was a stretch where our O seemed to be hitting its stride and then total ineptness . How? Who is to blame? I want someone to ask our coaches that question.

Good point. I really think Ben doesn't understand a playbook. He reads defenses like the old Tecmo bowl game - only throw it to the guys once you "see" that they are open. If they do not "appear" open you get buried by the nintendo rush. Ben never makes a guy open with throws or anticipates anything. He takes too long - and it is no longer a credit to "Ben doing what Ben does." F that, give me Brady, Manning, or Rodgers. And I would have never said that a year ago.

Ben is not smart enough to sabotage a game plan. He would have to understand the concept of one first to actually sabotage.

The conspiracy theory was a bit sarcastic - Ben is obviously disinterested in the season and/or the game plan. And no, he is not elite boys.

Ben is elite. No, BA was not spotted sending him coded signals from the Colt's sideline.

Tomlin DID NOT want Haley, neither did Ben. Tomlin was never consulted about the hiring, it was strictly a Rooney decision, mostly because of Haley's dad who is considered like family to the Rooneys! Antonio's dad told us this at the Steeler Fan Club earlier this season. So what does that tell you about Tomlin and the Rooney's! Get rid of Haley after the season...he and Ben are clearly NOT on the same page!

Someone else may have said it, but I think we would have won this game with Batch. Not saying you should start Batch (obviously), but I am saying the decision making of Ben is very poor. And in a game like this it is magnified. Ben did nothing. Actually, if he did nothing that would have been better than contributing a big fat NEGATIVE.

the steelers changed offensive coordinators and now the offense is terrible. as Freud would say, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. but to the topic at hand, sure doesn't take much for some of you guys to turn on the players does it? Steelers fans (especially the natives) have always treated QB's like crap, but usually it takes more than this. but hell, if you guys were happy to chase Bradshaw out of the city after helping the team win four titles, what chance does ben have.

Being elite and playing like it are two different things. I agree that he is elite I just wish he were playing like an elite QB.

Yeah, what exactly has Tomlin done for this team. Sick of him. And people need to get off the Steeler high horse of "not letting coaches go" and "we have only had 3 coaches in the last X years." Who cares...if he is no good, then get rid of him. Tomlin sucks.

if the Rooney's forced Haily on him then this season rests at their feet. any coach or potential coach needs to be able to mesh with the current staff and players. to bring someone in that lacks the support of both the HC, and the most important player on the field (the QB) is not only very stupid, but very un-steeler like. that's something Snyder or Jones would do. Wasn't it crap like that which drove cowher out the door when the current rooney took over?

You might be right but Ben is always looking for the big play down field. Some one needs to tell him to take the check down if it's there.

Was watching the local post game here. Bob Pompiani said he would not be surprised if in 3-4 weeks a story about Ben and Haley not getting along would surface. More fodder for the offseason
