Part of the Steelers problem is the way they allocate money. We are paying Justin Gilbert $2,170,023 guaranteed. How does that happen?

We assumed his existing contract when we traded for him. Yeah, it's a lot for a guy we only use on special teams.

Well, they didn't want to take returns away from the super fast and elusive Fitz Toussaint.

El Ohhh El. It brings back memories of some of the train wrecks we've had back there. Davenport, Jacoby Jones was absolutely cringe worthy in his stint here.

J Gilbert's contract structure is typical for a high 1st round rookie contract. I have no problem with it. The guy has the physical ability of a top 10 corner, and was worth the risk when we picked him up. I think it may be just taking our coaches more time to rebuild him than they thought it would.

The good thing to look at is at least it is a draft pick for next year not this year........

well what is the deal with him? why is he not playing corner? I mean is he that damn bad to where he cant see the field on this team? are we hoping that an entire offseason and camp makes him someone we can count on? I will admit, I never kept up with him in Cleveland. all I know is he was a high pick and apparently horrible in the locker room there. I don't think that has been a problem here

if he can just get to anywhere close to what he was projected it could help us tremendously

It takes a long time to wash the Stain out.

Seriously. I get the feeling he was kind of thrown to the wolves in CLE, and he couldn't have gotten much useful coaching on how to transition from college ball to the NFL.

He was a head case poor teammate in Cleveland ...... If we can get him to be a serious NFL corner and solid teammate we'll benefit greatly. He has the tools. As my dad told me once.." A toolbox doesn't make a mechanic"!!!

Him being a healthy scratch on game days while Shabazz gets a hat had to be humbling... Hopefully it lit a fire in him!!!

I have high hopes for Gilbert in 2018. Gilbert in....Gay out.

Cockrell, Burns, Gilbert, Golson and a draft pick or another FA

Justin Gilbert seems like it was a bad roster move, we should move on
