    ...just a few years ago.

    Now, with time passing, it seems obvious that only Russell Wilson is even close to Ben's level.

    Cam is still super athletic but is a big baby who never grew up. I used to defend him to a degree but he never grew up. He's such a baby and so immature. His play in the Super Bowl where he grew alligator arms with the ball on the ground and the game not yet decided is a microcosm of who he is.

    Kaepernick, even if not for his controversy, is simply no where near as good a QB than is Ben.

    And Wilson, who is a legit pro bowl-level QB, can't take over games like Ben can when needed. Ben can drop 500 yards passing with 5 TDs when needed, at times. I don't think RW could ever do that. He is quite good with a good rushing game and D, but Ben brings something more to the game.

    All that being said, sometimes the new, shiny toy isn't better than the old, proven one.

    If Russell Wilson had Antonio Brown at WR and Le'Veon Bell at RB..... that would be freakin' scary.

    Wilson has been a one-man show up there since Seahawks lost the Super Bowl to Patriots. He hasn't had much help, other than Baldwin.

    I agree with Newton and Kaepernick. They are nowhere near Roethlisberger.

    I could see Cam for a bit being in the discussion but not the other two, especially Kap! Wilson is a very good QB but not on Bens level.

    I'm watching the Weather Channel right now to check out the temperature in Hades.....because.....I agree with everything you just said. ;) While not a new kid on the block, I'd add Phillip Rivers to this list, he tends to melt down at all the wrong times even when he had LaDainian and Gates lining up with him.

    I agree and disagree. Cam and Kap are crap, but Wilson... that guy has heart and skill. he has no WR and probably the worst O line to deal with. Dude balls out most games I have seen and absolutely has taken over.

    I would take Wilson in a heartbeat if Ben was out and Rudolph was still learning.

    last 3 years

    wilson
    2017= 3983 yards, 34 td's 11 int. 95 rating, 43 sacks
    2016= 4219 yards, 21 td's 11 int 92 rating, 41 sacks
    2015= 4024 yards, 34 td's 8 int 110 rating, 45 sacks

    3 yr avg= 4075 yards, 29 tds, 10 int, 99 rating, 43 sacks

    ben
    2017= 4251 yards, 28 tds 14 int, 93 rating, 21 sacks
    2016= 3819 yards, 29 tds 13 int, 95.rating 17 sacks
    2015= 3938 yards, 21 tds 16 int, 94 rating 20 sacks

    3 yr avg = 4002 yards, 26 tds, 19 int, 94 rating, 19 sacks.

    so in a 3 year average Wilson has more yards, tds, less int's, better rating, and has taken double the sacks. No bell, no brown.

    Now let's tally up leading receivers and rushers. Seattle has not had a top 10 leading rusher or receiver in those 3 years. Pittsburgh was top 5 in both categories in all but 2015 when bell went down.

    sea
    2017 rusher- 33rd, wilson
    2017 receiver-16th baldwin
    2016 rusher- 36th, christine michael
    2016 receiver-11th baldwin
    2015 rusher- 16th thomas rawls
    2015 receiver-21st baldwin

    pit
    2017 rusher- 3rd bell
    2017 receiver-1st brown
    2016 rusher- 5th bell
    2016 receiver-5th brown
    2015 rusher -10th deangelo
    2015 receiver-2nd brown

    Wilson as it stands RIGHT NOW is absolutely better than Ben. Obviously unbiased as I can be(hence my name) lol

    Maybe you just skimmed my post because I also feel RW is legit and good. I just don't think he is a pure enough passer to put up the huge games Ben can, but that is no knock on RW as a player/QB. RW is best when they have a potent rushing attack and he does roll out off of the rush working. Ben can simply pass out of the pocket all day, if that is what is needed. I don't think RW an make a living just staying in the pocket is all, but he can still win rings.

    One stat you left out, which is most important: Ben 13-3, RW 9-7.

    Teams win games, not individual players.

    Wilson can absolutely load a team on his back. He may do it a bit differently from how Roethlisberger does it, but he is every bit as good.

    No one would argue that teams win or lose, but they don't keep QBs win-loss records for nothing. It is meaningful. They don't bother keeping win-loss records for running backs, wrs, CB or anyone else but coaches and qbs.

    And has everyone not seen this line....I think RW is really good and wrote it.

    "And Wilson, who is a legit pro bowl-level QB, can't take over games like Ben can when needed. Ben can drop 500 yards passing with 5 TDs when needed, at times. Ben needs to play better in the playoffs. He can drop 5 or 6 TDs with no trouble during the regular season. And he's done this vs. good teams like Ravens and Colts.

    Roethlisberger has had a far better running game and pass protection than Wilson the last couple of seasons. The quality of his team dropped off, not the quality of his play.

    Just because a statistic is kept doesn't mean it is meaningful. Football is the ultimate team sport. Quarterback is the most important position on the field, by far, but no quarterback can consistently win games by himself.

    Ben is also 36-35-34 years old in those stats. When Ben was Russell's age he didn't have Bell and this AB. :cool:

    Wilson is very underrated for how good he is. Its hard to say hes on Bens level. But thats only because im a homer. If you take the fandom out of the equation, Wilson is certainly on Bens level.

    I would also say that Cam Newton is right up there. Cam has had some monster seasons in Carolina. Cam is a lot like Ben. When hes great hes great. And when hes bad, hes really bad. Either way, Cam was in the Super Bowl two years ago, and he went there with a lot less offensive talent than Ben had.

    Cam had his #1 target out for about 9 games last year. Funchess is not a reliable target either, although he did step up his play. I think Wilson is a better football player but Cam is a better Qb.

    You give either of those 3 our offense and you would be saying ... really Ben. It's no reason why Ben shouldn't be a 5k yard passer every year and our offense should have been averaging 35 pts a game ... let alone struggling to avg 30 pts a game. Wait for it ....wait for it ... Brady stats would be unreachable with our offensive weapons

    Part of being a good QB is leadership. Cam doesn't lead; he's a front running, cocky douche when things are going well but he's a mopy cry baby, little b---h when things are a little rough. And, Ben makes his weapons better than they are. Even AB puts up ordinary #s if Ben isn't playing. Look at the WRs who left Pgh and what they have done post. Sanders still decent, Wallace still roaming around on a new team each year, Coates out of football.

    If by "some," you mean 1 or 2, OK. He has thrown for 4,000 yards ONCE (his rookie year, has never done it since).

    <Removed "Random" Link>

    He has thrown for over 30 TDs only once, most seasons in low 20's or under 20.

    He had a strong year for a rookie, and his one MVP/super bowl year. But that's really about it, as far as putting up "monster" seasons.

    Watt Wack making some valid points here...

    We can only speculate Haley was hampering Ben. Never scored 30 ppg with Ben, but he didn't have the weapons he does now minus haley.

    We will see
