I met one of the trainers for the KC Chiefs a few years ago. He said some of them petitioned the NFL to stop TNF. The human body regardless of age is not made for NFL football with 3 days rest.

Thursday Night games is a terrible product. That being said the Bengals without Burrow are one of the worst teams in football. Just win baby!

I think we're the better team, but I hate being on the road on Thursday. Especially for a division game.

And Flacco played well against us last year.

Hopefully we can keep the train rolling re: sacks. After a slow start, we've been very hard on QBs the last 3 weeks with 17 sacks (6 / 6 / 5).

If we can get after Flacco like that, maybe we can get him out of the game.

While this is obviously true, they make a **** ton of money on Thursdays. Would be much better to play Saturday or Friday and let the NCAA and HS leagues figure out when to play so they didn't conflict with the NFL.

This will be one of those flat popcorn games. Steelers have them every year. Last year it was the Browns road game that started the tailspin to quick Wildcard exit. Steelers have 3 losses coming up for the 2025 tailspin: Packers, Colts and Chargers.

Maybe so but they do count in the standings.

    And the spare...

Could be one of those stinkers although their is a different feel now. Rodgers, Metcalf and Ramsey have been platinum additions. Could be a close shave but I feel they will pull it out (not literally :hehehe:)

This. It's a division game, and no matter how bad a divisional rival is on any given year, the teams still know each other, and it's always closer than you'd think it should be based on how things are going that year. I'd expect this to be a fight, but the Steelers should be able to pull out a win.

Stats like those are the same as a coin flip to me. If you flip a coin on Thursday and it lands head 6 weeks in a row, that has nothing to do with what the coin is going to do on week 7.

I also think that the coaching for the Steelers is better this season. I'm not a Tomlin hater but I've also said that if they replaced him I wouldn't be shedding tears. However I do feel that the game prep, in game changes, and the overall game plan are different this year than previous years. I'm not saying it's perfect, but I do think it is improved. The only area that I see the same ole same ole is the use of time outs.

For this game, I think that the biggest factor is actually going to be Flaco. Do we get the old tired flacco, or the experience Flaco that tears up our pass defense? I see a win either way, but if we get the good version of Flaco it will be more difficult.

Daniel Jones is proving this year that the Colts had a hell of a supporting cast around Flacco for that game. They have the 4th ranked O and D this year. Cincy surrounds Flacco with the 31st ranked O and the 31st ranked D.

    This guy is not impressed:

The Steelers dominated the lowly Cleveland Browns with a final score of 23-9, leading to their third straight win. The other two recent wins were against the Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots.

The Vikings are without their starting quarterback and remain a question. However, the Patriots are considered to be the only actual playoff hopeful that the Steelers have beaten thus far this season.

The combined record of the opponents the Steelers have faced is 12-17. The Jets are 0-6, Seahawks 4-2, Patriots 4-2, Vikings 3-2, and Browns 1-5. Seattle also took down Rodgers and company.

That record is skewed a bit by the dumpster fire that is the Jets. I'm not sure missing McCarthy means all that much for the Vikings. The Seahawks are legitimately good. The Browns are a mess, but they do have one of the best defenses in the league, so the offensive performance Sunday was impressive.

The line has gotten better. The running game is getting better. Rodgers has been solid. The defense has gotten better as it has gotten healthier. The Thursday night on the road thing could easily jump up and bite them against the Bengals, but I'm surprised so many take such a gloomy view of what we have seen so far this season.

The defending SB champions Eagles lost to the Giants last week on TNF, is that due to Sirianni poor coaching or upsets happen in the NFL.

The Steelers have to stay aggressive get at least 5 sacks on Flacco, and he will likely throw a couple of interceptions or have a strip sack.

Definitely a winnable game but this team has been known to lose winnable games. In this one, we know that Flacco likes to toss it deep and that the Bengals have receivers who can make plays downfield. The D has to get pressure on Flacco, and hopefully that happens against a weak OL.

The steelers are not the only afc north team who are awful in those situation

One of the 2 was by the ravens in 2015 against the steelers when it was the first start of a washed Michael Vick and our kicker had been awful....

Were pretty healthy, motivated, line is starting to gel, have a good Qb/passing attack for a change, and even Tomlin on Thursday night, like a broken clock, is right once in a while

ill be surprised if we don't win this one by double digits.
