of course the all pro at every position comeback glenn. really? so why now do we have to bring in a vet that has been cut by two teams already this year? we drafted dri to be the 3rd RB, isn't that enough? evidently not. josh harris being brought off the PS. isn't that enough with dri? perkins was also added to the PS weeks ago. isn't that enough? no now we have to add tate on a Tuesday before our playoff game on Saturday. some better planning by KC would have gone a long way since we did lose a guy that had 65 carries up until that point of the season. RB's get hurt and now we are scrambling to sign someone. harris, archer and perkins must not have been enough evidently. just bad management 5 days before we have a playoff game. if you can't see that, then this conversation need go no further.:cool:

We had Blount and that didn't work out. Would it have made more sense to sign a vet a few weeks ago? Maybe, who knows. I don't think anyone ever thought of Archer to be the type to carry the load so no surprise there. Colbert signed Tate today, isn't that addressing the Bell injury?

trying to get tate ready to play in 5 days is a little late to the party and not very good planning. we should have had a guy brought in for a vet presence, if that's what tate is a month ago when we lost our #2 RB. that would have been the smart move. now we are scrambling to fast track a guy for the playoffs on a short week. terrible planning by Colbert.

Glenn, with respect, I believe you might be alone in the Cam Thomas signing was a positive...

Disagree Mac, there was no one else besides him out there to bring in. Signing Tate back then would have just been opening a can of worms, how many touches do you think he would have got with Bell here. How long before Tate started stomping his feet.

Offense and defense..I'm frustrated with our redzone woes. Depending on Suisham's foot for min. points in the first half of the games this year. Too many points left on the field. I fear if this continues this could bite us here in the playoffs. Defense.. were aware of the issues front to rear a must fix for the off season.

I think we better concentrate on the defense in this upcoming draft or FA period.

The Steelers go through periods of mediocrity but a few non playoff seasons are better than teams such as the Raiders, Browns and Skins who have been rebuilding for years. New coach and players.... wash, rinse and repeat. Heck, the Lions haven't been to a championship game since 1957 when Lebeau was still in college.

I agree with Glenn on the roster guys. That flash we got from Harris made me feel better. Foster wasn't on the side he ran through on that 59 yarder wasn't he?

I'm sorry, but how boring must life be if your opinion on everything is that other people know best so you'll agree with everything they do and you'll never doubt them.

I will give you 2 out of 3 I like what Coach T and the ownership have done and are doing . I think we can do better than Colbert though . Colbert has signed some questionable contracts to say the least and we have left the shelf empty at a lot of positions.

I feel the BPA at all cost approach has caused us to miss some solid talent at key positions of need. I am not a advocate of reach at all cost , but I do think our draft formula needs some work.

IMO a guy with more College connections could help us target some true studs and set us up for a long strong run . I would like the Steelers to dominate a decade again . I don't have the faith that Colbert is the guy to lead that charge.

He did his job on the play, he just didn't have a man to block when he got to the second level.

A total failure by our scouting department. Didn't they bother to watch film on this guy before they signed him? He's as bad as we've EVER HAD on the DL.

As for KC, he's okay. I think there was a time that we had all elevated him to mystical status. We didn't think he could ever miss on a draft pick. He's come back down to earth some but he's also found some diamonds in the rough with AB being the shiniest. But some other late round picks like Kelvin Beachum, Steve McClendon and others have been decent finds as well. JJ may end up being a pariah of a first round pick but the jury is still out. I also give KC credit for drafting Bell over Lacy and quickly moving to wrap up AB after diva boy thumbed his nose at a huge contract. I know, I know, KC did offer the deal to MW and that would have probably been a fiasco had Wallace accepted the deal because I think AB would have gotten away had we signed him. But I do give Colbert credit for getting AB signed immediately.

As for Tomlin. The more I see these coaching carousels take place the more I think we need to stand pat with Tomlin. There aren't many superstar coaches out there, most of them are no names or recycles. I give Tomlin credit for holding the team together after a couple of mediocre seasons and a mediocre start to this season. He's got some deficiencies which have contributed to some of the mediocrity, but all coaches do. Of course I also think we've got some all-star assistant coaches and coordinators which help hide some of Tomlin's warts, but I give him credit for putting the staff together. I've always said that I like to hire people that make up for my own deficiencies so nothing wrong with that.

Winning cures a lot of ills, and this season has reminded me why I'm a Steeler fan. I hope this FO, coaching staff and player personnel group are hoisting Lombardi number 7 when this journey is complete!

I think this is pretty much the view I've had for a while.

Plus, I like how Tomlin winds people up around here with his press conferences, but that's just a personal thing.

Don't think there are any questions about either Harrison or Keisel. I believe Keisels injury will be much like Aaron Smith and end his career. I really hope not but if we are being realistic its time we found Keisels replacement. Maybe we have done that with Tuitt? And Harrison is likely done as well.

And I think you're spot on about KC to, no gm has the golden touch, they all have black marks on their resume but as you pointed out, some really nice moves in there too.
