I Saw Something Strange Today

Did anyone else notice that we went from 3 points favorites for the Cleveland game to Cleveland 1.5 favorites for the game ,to Steelers 3.5 all in the same day, and now I believe its Steelers 4.5 on some?? I noticed this on some betting apps, and tv today. I was like what is going on.
I don't remember seeing a line jump around this much in a day.

 

Yes that is weird. But what the Steelers do will depend a LOT on whether the Ratbirds win or lose. If they lose, it becomes pretty much a tune up game for the backups. So, I am guessing they will have a really hard time setting odds for this game.

 

Sports Books working per usual as I see it. There is a lot of uncertainty in terms how Saturday's Game will go alone. T.J. Watt returning would be nice but the Steelers haven't won a game, in Cleveland, since 2021. Now, that aspect alone doesn't amount to much but it is likely something that the Bookies have to consider.


Add in the fact that D.K. is now essentially a season ending suspension and the point spread gets even more conflicting.

Jordan Love was limited in practice today, but is trending up. Lamar Jackson did not practice today.

 

With both QBs injured any piece of news or rumor will be significant

Lots of weird things happening. Love practiced, but unsure if he's going to play (looking like he's going to). Lamar didn't practice today, and I don't know their practice schedule, but there can't be much more time left for him to return (Saturday game)... There's even reports that the Ravens are considering trading him and firing Harbaugh and all of it... Idk.

This has to be a win. There's no blizzard, no Trubisky or KFP starting... literal playoffs on the line (unless of course the Ravens lose to GB). Browns are on their 3rd QB (rookie day 3 pick) who holds onto the ball forever, no Judkins, literally a 3 win team.... I think we're playing too well to drop this one. I obviously don't want to jinx it or anything, but this would be the biggest single game blunder of the last 5 years if we can't win this.

 

The betting lines been on a trampoline due to the unknowns and variables. Will Love play, will Jackson play, will Will Howard play-(pun intended). After this entire DK fiasco, I’m just hoping we’re in the playoffs by late Sat night because I refuse to take Cleveland lightly. This will be their SB regardless of whether Rodgers, Rudolph or Howard plays.

If you study the betting lines over the seasons, the only real player influence on them is the QB. Whether others play or not very rarely moves the needle. But I suspect, as others have said, that the actual game circumstances could wildly swing depending on the outcome of the BAL-GB game. And that game has QB uncertainty to add to the mix.
