The defense might even be improved from last year. My point was without those near 40 turnovers, this was a 6-10 (or worse) team in 2019.
But, take away Fichtner's 2 wildcat gaffs, and they're back to 8-8.;+)

I go back to the 2018 game against the Raiders. When Dobbs was in, Fichtner called a very conservative game. It was like Linus loosing his security blanket. One can justify doing that for one game. But to do that for an entire season is inexcusable. He’s paid to coach the players he has.

Not during the season with qbs that have very little time in the system. During the season it is very difficult to do much of anything during the week except get ready for a certain opponent and what they do. You have even less time if there is travel involved. It's also hard to do this with two inexperienced and going into a hostile stadium and having to work getting everyone on the same page with crowd noise. Then throw in the fact of different players now involved with little experience because of injuries. It's not like they have a full 5-6 days to practice during the season.

To be beaten by Blake Bortles twice in our house, within weeks of each event, second time after a bye, is totally enexceptable and proved that we have bufoons coaching this team.

Yes Bortles was the QB but their coaching staff understood what they had and made a game plan that was almost classic Steelers. They made sure they didn't have to have Bortles win games. They ran high percentage low risks plays. Fournette, fournette and 3rd and 2 they can run fournette or take a dump off to a TE on the sideline. They never took a risk other than once every 15 plays or so and only on 1st down. You go back on watch the play fake TD pass to the TE against the Steelers, they had sold Fournette so much even on 4th and goal that it didn't occur to anyone that they weren't running it. Couple that with a dominant defense and that team was legit before running into Brady. Following year Fournette is tired an hurt and Bortles has to lead but is just horrid. Same game plan can't work without that power runner.

We rarely play good after a bye. Second time we went with a retired couch potato with bad knees filling Shazier's role..

Watt had hit the Wall & Dupree wasn't playing for a contract. It was ugly.

Total buffoon decision on that injury replacement.

That Jags team could have (and should have) lost to the Bills the week before they played the Steelers. Bortles ran for more yards than Fournette in that game.

    IDK

I have commonly stated most games are decided by 5 plays or less. And those are usually fumbles, interceptions, dropped pass, etc. You can’t blame that in coaching.

Now, when our game strategy is to cover Gronk with a midget.....

Watt gave up at least three third and long runs to his outside. That’s the equivalent of a turnover. Stop any one of them at it’s the margin we win by. Stop all 3 and we win going away.

We could have used JH. He still had enough in the tank to contain the run.

I remember saying the same thing during that game, put JH in to help the Fournette runs. We are very slow or not good at making in game adjustments.

I try to dumb it down for us instead of going back and forth. Guy is a terrible coach it’s already been shown over and over and over. No need to debate a proven fact.

That and when it's your mantra to look good, talk good, and just let everybody be what they want to be; you are not likely to get the best out of ANYBODY!

Let me ask you something? With the way we are playing football, would it make any difference what color the coaches are?

Agreed. It's all been said and proven how little the dude can actually coach.
