Bruton is a SS, and Powers is a CB. Both players are solid for the right price though.

Don't know much about Neal tbh, but Bruton and Powers would be fine.

I could see the Steelers kicking the tires on Sterling Moore CB from Tampa. 3 yrs with the Cowboys and 2 in NE. 26yrs old, 5'10" 200. Has played some outside and nickel. Not a #1 but a low level target they usually go for.

Why are the cards letting powers go, because he wants a bigger payday than his value, are we going to give him that big payday, I dont think so, and reports are he isnt a starting corner but a 2-3 corner prospect and they estimate at best he is worth a 3 year deal in the 12 to 15 million range, we need a 1 corner not a 2 or 3 corner...

He wants a three- or four-year deal. He wants to go to a team with a "winning pedigree" that could contend for a title immediately. He also knows how much he wants to get paid, but wouldn’t disclose the number. Entering his eighth season, Powers said he understands this might be his last shot at a big pay day. He called the number "not too crazy" but "then again, it’s a number that I feel compensates things I’ve done the past few years as far as my availability in the market, as well."

Powers made $4.35 million last season.

"It’s a business and this is free agency," Powers said. "I’m married with kids now, so I’m in a position where I have to take care of my family and make sure the back end is the way it needs to be.

I'm going to make this argument to my boss, and ask for a pay rise to 4.35 million. The logic is unbeatable.

I agree, though, that Powers' priorities seem to be looking away from what the Steelers might be able to offer.

just happened to see these guys ranked on nfl.con. in they're top 99 free agents. neal is a role player for GB that can play OLB all the way in to DT. coming from dom capers 3-4 there he should be very familiar with this defense. he sounds like just what we could use i thought. a good role player with versatility and knows the system. he was the 70th ranked guy on there list.

powers has played well for the last five years. he was ranked 87th, so i figured he would come a little cheaper. tackles well and has 11 picks and 69 passes defended in 7 years. if he's ranked as a 2 or 3 thats still far above what we have had in the past here.

bruton was a good special teams player until last year when he got playing time and they said he made a lot of big plays for denver. he was ranked 98th.

these guys just seemed like pretty decent fits for here. i thought with these rankings they may be in our budget.
