When they started that drive by throwing for a big gain, that was the right time to be gutsy and aggressive, couldn't afford to go 3 and out. But once you got into fg range, you're 100% right, thats a cocky stupid play call by the OC.

Quinn, having lived this already with Seattle should have stepped in and said, no Kyle, running the ****ing ball.

If anything watching this game, we need elite speed on defense at all positions. The old guys and the slow guys need to go.

One team that doesn't "take a shot" on 3rd and 1 is the Pats, the team with all the recent Super Bowl W's. ;)

Actually I think there was one play tonight where they did. Wasn't there a deep out early in the game where Brady just overshot his guy down the sidelines? I was thinking that play was on 3rd and short.

One would think so but I remember the Broncos AFC title game with 1st and goal and they had Kordell throwing it over the middle instead of rolling him out or handing it to Bettis and it got picked.

That team has probably been more offensively aggressive than we were this year and when you live by the sword you die by the sword.

Probably right. I'm sure they do on occasion but other than a couple trick plays they seem to run a pretty straight forward offense that puts the pressure on the defense to stop. When Brady stopped getting sacked tonight he picked them apart with nothing fancy or outside the box. No overthinking, just practical play calling.

Brady is a good, basic QB, rarely anything fancy, and that wins more often than not.

When coaches send th p lay into a QB, can they remind them "whatever you do, don't take a sack - throw the friggin' ball away!"

I don't think it matters who the commissioner is, as long as the majority of the owners get what they want. Most of the rule changes are more about protected investments, future liability and commercial time than player safety. I don't think this is news to anyone.

Why couldn't we do what Atlanta did? Makes you wonder? LOL I know why.

I agree with this except for the last line. Dan Quinn is hardly incompetent.

That's always great to hear. Every year there is always one guarantee at the draft, him getting booed off stage :lolol:

Ask Seattle about that. With downs to spare they call a pass instead of giving it to Lynch at the goal line. Were gonna make Wilson the hero! Well a lot of goats after that game, the single worst play call ever in Professional sports...cheat win again...

At least Atlanta played man to man defense. Take note Tomlin. And also the tempo. Hurry up offense wears the defense out.

Texans and Falcons put up a better fight against the evil empire than the Steelers. I've been saying it since the Eagles and Dolphins games... this team is mediocre at best. Ravens will win the division in '17.

I was also thinking when the Patriots had 4th and 3, late in the 3rd quarter and converted.... Steelers would have punted.

    Everybody knows I'm right.

Three simple running plays (Lynch, Freeman, Freeman) and NE hasn't won a Super Bowl since 2004. It's maddening.

which means changing out Gay, Mitchell, with speed and ball hawking types, and not have Harrison, Timmons in pass coverage so many times.

The Falcons made some dumb calls amd they ran out of gas ...What I hope Coach T got the most was we need to get pressure and we need to man up to beat the Pats ..We need to move to a 4 or 5 man front and use a lot less LB'S and a lot more DB'S and not just zone db's db's who can actually play man coverage at a high level...

Watching the game, you saw the Falcons line up almost entirely in press man coverage.

In the second half they usually had one guy play off in a cushion. Brady threw to that guy almost every time. It was uncanny.

You mean the man-to-man that got torched in the 4th quarter and OT for 4 straight TD's? Yeah, I'm not sure why we didn't use that scheme.

Do you really, after watching this game and him winning his 5th Superbowl, still think he is a "good, basic QB?. I'm not a Brady lover by any means but I think he is the best QB to ever play the game. He was getting killed in the first half and was playing bad. To come back and win this game is nothing less then amazing. Granted Atlanta made some mistakes during that time but he was 21/27 for 246 yards and 2 TD's in the 4th and OT. He got his team to score 31 points in just over 1 1/2 QUARTERS!

In Superbowl 49 they played the number 1 defense in Seattle and were down by 10 going into the 4th and then Brady shredded them on 2 drives for 2 TD's to eventually win the game.

How many Patriots are in the Hall of Fame from all those Superbowls? I believe the answer is none (Maybe some will in the future but it won't be like the Steelers/49ers of their era) I think all but one receiver/rb that played last night is under 6 feet tall. They have a dynasty that wins with average players. That to me puts Brady over the top as the best QB ever.
