At the starting line of the Pgh Marathon.

He's not big at all. In fact, if you didn't know who he was, you'd probably not bet that the guy is a pro FB player. Skinny legs. Narrow shoulders. I swear hes no more than a buck eighty. Maybe ninety TOPS. To me it makes his physical play all the more impressive.

Dude Troy is only 5' 10" he is smaller than Clark. Clark is only 5' 11". A lot of times you see stars on TV and think they must be these giants. It makes you realize it really whats in between their ears that separates NFL players from college stars and any old athlete.

Don't get me wrong, the NFL has some big dudes, but as along as you got good instincts and got the speed you can play in the NFL.

I have never seem Polamalu in person, but I have seen footage of him and he looks thick and athletic though. I think height is the least important attribute in most if not all the positions in the NFL.

I haven't seen him in person either, but a guy that works for me did around a month ago and he basically said Polamalu was ripped.

Went to a game and seen ryan next to james farrior before a game in shirt and shorts. I looked at a guy with me and said who is the little dude. he can't be a player can he? A guy next to us told me it was clark. I meet farrior when he was at virginia so I know how big he is. I think he was actually bigger in college, and he made clark look like a high schooler

My senior year in high school Jon Beason came and talked to the school. He seems like a great guy. He was nowhere near as big as I expected but he is built like a fire hydrant

If you think Farrior is big?. People you need to go to training camp
and get a close up of how massive some of these players are. TV does no justice
for these men,. you have to eye ball them in person, to see how big and usually in shape
    and put together they are.

Yeah, I remember someone I knew talking about meeting Bettis in person when he was in Ireland (can't remember why...). He said he actually seemed bigger in normal clothes than when he was geared up on the field. I believe his actual words were "brick f*****g wall".

I was at a Gold's gym that Phil Simms used to work out at and he's one big dude for sure. Much bigger than he seems on TV anyway. My sisters husband was a starting line backer for Wake Forest and let me tell ya, you would not want to get full speed tackled by this behemoth now, never mind in playing shape. It makes me respect the small guys like Rainey that much more.

Monster professional hitters, running at you full speed, performing a crushing hit they have spent a decade or more perfecting. With THEIR pads on!!!

And people call QB's girls. Please.....

I went to the steelers game against atl when we lost because they said the recvr moved and ran off 10 seconds and batch spiked the ball with only 8 seconds left so they cheated. :roflmao: ....well anyway....I saw carter, townsend, farrior, ward, troy, and hampton.I told my brother in law that no wonder we get thrown on so much.Short and smaller then I was.Hampton didn't look as big as on tv.They say that tv add 10 pounds to you.So I said all of that to express how these guys put their bodies on the line every week and that make them more impressive then ever.

My son and I were standing directly across the rope from Ryan Clark at TC a couple years ago. He was not as big as I thought he'd be but he seems to be about the same size as his official listing.. He's listed at 5'11 and 205 lbs. BTW, he's a fantastic guy and eventually went inside in his socks, shorts and shoulder pads. My son got one shoe and Clark signed and gave away everything else.

agreed, being aggressive and laying a few big hits (welker & mcgahee) has made all opponents think twice about ryan clark when they're running up the middle. clark has that edge the rest of his career...

The first time I went to camp I was actually surprised at how much bigger Hines was than he looks on tv (as far as build, not height). Dude was jacked.

the guys that always impress me are the olineman. these guys are huge and are great athletes. I live in outside knoxville tn and have a family member associated with the tennessee volunteers. I get to see alot of the players at different events. I can tell you that ramon foster is a massive human being. the guy is not as tall as you would think, but he looks like he could pick up a house. when we go to games and the oline comes out for warm ups it always makes me say how in the world can these guys move like they do. I mean max starks makes two of me and I am not small. when I see the cb's and safteys i always think how could they even play in the nfl.

Was it at the Hilton? It's attached to the mall here... On my lunch break last year I hung around the mall/foodcourt stalking for Steelers players lol! Got to chat with Hoke for a couple minutes and saw Mike Wallace but he was pretty far and had a hood over his head (looked like he didn't want to be seen)...

Also talked to Tank Johnson of the Bengals (not sure why he was in the hotel)... he was HUGE and a really cool guy. There's was another Steelers fan there that I guess goes to the Bengals training camp and inflates this huge Steelers guy on the hill over their field, and he was talking/joking with Tank.

Which is why we need to see Sean Spence play before we write him off as too small for a linebacker.

    He could be a freelancer.
