Getting rid of butler wont help. His replacement will still be chosen by and managed by Tomlin. Remember this is a man that's specialty is Defense and more secondary. What has been are biggest problems? Defense and secondary! Not just this year but his entire time here. That itself should be the biggest indictment on Tomlin. If you cant fix what your specialty is then I dare say you actually don't have a specialty and you aren't really good at your job.

 

I think Ben is done.

Mason goes on a 17 game win streak as a starter to surpass Ben's record. Only this time, we beat the patsies in the AFCCG and then go on the win #7 against the seahags to avenge the loss and make those whiners in seattle cry even more.

The part of you that thinks Mason will be a dud is the same for me. Nothing against Mason or even the coaching, it's just that QBs drafted in the 3rd round just don't have a great track record. Here are all the QBs since 2000 drafted in Rd 3.

There's one, maybe two, true franchise QBs, Wilson and Foles. One that looked like a reasonable starter at some point, Schaub, and one that may end up being one, Brisset. The rest are journeymen or pedestrian at best.

Not saying that Mason can't end up being really good, but just that the odds aren't good.

I just had a flashback to Jerry “Moon” Mullins (I think?). He thought he still had another year left in the tank after he was cut by the Steelers. So he was going to sign with Cleveland for a year. Art senior paid him a years salary not to do it so he could always be a Steeler.
