I don't think "Mr. Inconsistency" [Ben] likes the big game. He chokes.

I think pressure makes Ben inconsistent, and I think he chokes in big games.

Consistent QB's show some fire on the sidelines in big games. They get angry and steely eyed.

Ben gets a deer-in-the-headlights look about him in big games and when we get behind in big games.

It's like Ben has 2 emotions, happy or scared.

It has nothing to do with being cool and calm like Montana.

All the great ones it seems show some fire on the sideline, and an angry resoluteness on the field when things aren't going well.

Football is an emotional game, and its good to control your emotions, but you can suppress them to a degree that you can get scared because you suppress so much that you get confused.

I can't recall ever seeing Ben angry or expressing emotion other than elation.
When the heat is on, I see scared, not calm.

I think thats why Ben is so inconsistent. He's good when he's happy, and bad when he's scared.

Yep...coming from behind in games against the Ravens and Cinny...he choked!!

His drive in the Super Bowl...biggest game...he choked!!

He was pissed at several of the receivers last night when they should have came up with a catch...tough catch...but still should of have caught them.

Ben has sucked of late, but he's closed out at least 2 games lately including last night. The throw to Brown for the first down was beyond impressive.

No.. He just needs to fine-tune some his audible selection down by the goal line. He was overthinking, overanalayzing everything yesterday.

After a drive late in the game, Ben and Tomlin had words.

While I don't know what was said, here's my take.

Ben: we need to throw it and score

Tomlin: no, we're gonna run and kick

Hailey: I got this, we'll run down the field and once we're inside the five yard line, we go five-wide

    Ben and Tomlin: okay

If you think were better with Landry Jones, raise your hand?

That's what I thought, so please sit down.

When Ben retires you'll understand what we've been blessed with all these years. Ben didn't look that bad yesterday. He threw some really great balls, and the int in the endzone wasn't because of a bad throw, it got tipped into the air. We can debate Ben's audibles in the redzone, but don't act like it was a BAD throw. Also, the made a perfect throw to Brown in the endzone and the only reason it wasn't a TD is the defender played perfect D.

A choke would have been missing Brown for that 1st down.

He threw 2 TD passes in the EZ that were dropped, AB had the ball knocked out after he caught it and reports are the team is going to make him the highest paid receiver next year, if that's the case he should hold on to the ball when he gets it, then rogers has a TD pass go right through his hands, granted ben wasn't at his best in this game, but the play calling wasn't the best either like throwing on 1st down at the 5 yard line which got batted up for a pick, let bell run the damn ball the next time they are at the 5.....

The pick was a gamble. He saw single coverage on AB and figured the OLB would be focused on Bell with a run. The LB just made a great play. Ben has definitely had some high throws in recent weeks but he didn't play bad last night for the most part.

Let's add 8 points to the 2 dropped td passes, then another 3-7 to the tipped int. We would've been 26-33 to 16

We won and nothing else matters

Not agreeing with the OP, but Ben was 1-7 with 1 sack and 1 int in the redzone vs the Chiefs.

I must have missed those choking plays last night, which ones? I saw some WR's choke, in the end zone, twice. While "keeping the play alive," I saw Ben hit Brown on a potentially broken play for a first down to seal the game. Ben is stat leader in comebacks and 4th quarter stats. I just saw a stat where his QB rating was 145 in the 4 quarter during a 1 score game. The highest by 20 points. Brady was second. Last night's game plan was not for Ben to throw the ball 40 times, it was to run with Bell. It worked.

I will agree that he is not as clutch as he was during his earlier years. Something changed right around the time he had kids. He still has some magic, but not like those seasons where a come back in a game was all but inevitable.
