It makes sense you'd like it since this is the best group of CB's we've had in a very long time. It definitely has a shot at being very, very good.

Ramsey's usage is going to be something to watch for, but having him in the slot a good bit is going to keep the matchups in our favor. We shouldn't get beat as much with teams moving top WR's to the slot or gashing us with the athletic TE's. The ILB group is very good with Holcomb back from injury (and I am excited about year two for Wilson), the pass rush should be awesome as Harmon is a great addition from the inside and Sawyer makes us exceptionally deep for rotational purposes. Even the Safety room feels solid. There are no excuses for this defense to not be top 5. We should make it quite easy on the offense with quality defensive play. I'd expect us to be among the league leaders in turnovers again, and hope to figure out how to stop the Ravens run game (basically the only team that really punished an otherwise quality run defense in 2024). We shouldn't have to score a ton of points to be a good team.

But at one time he had 5 consecutive picks returned for TD. Not bad for a 5th.

Agreed. Seems like they made the moves that would propel the offense. Even if its not stellar I see an improvement on the horizon

Anything can happen if Rodgers turn back the clock a bit and play at a very good level in some key games, like late in the season against Buffalo,Detroit,Baltimore, etc

It will be important it happen too

A big part of this is the substantial upgrade from Fields to Rodgers

That’s a lot more touchdowns and therefore more wins

Didn't Russell Wilson start most of the games last year? I don't see Rodgers being much of an upgrade over Wilson. I hope I'm wrong.

My comment was regarding Fields who they made an attempt to keep as a backup

Wilson lost the last 4 games of the season throwing 4 TD’s just about anyone would be an improvement over that

Rodgers threw more TDs than Wilson and Fields combined

And I hope you are wrong

Fields would been our starter if he would stay with us in march....When you offer a player 20 millions per year, this is not to be on the bench.....

Austin has to solve this pass rush issue. Teams are starting to neutralize TJ with double teams and on top of that he’s wearing down. I dont think our 4 man rush is able to put enough pressure on the Qb anymore - which is how our defense functions. And is our DB room better than last year to cover for the pass rush? I think theyre at the same level as last year at best - even with the off season changes.

i still think alot is going to depend on AR and the offense moving the ball and keeping the defense off the field.

Funny how Bags Tomlin was-is a secondary coach.

Its been a very low number having success in the drafting process and development of home grown corners.

This is why we see a lot of free agents, trading for veterans.

I'm hoping Porter Jr takes a step up and can rectify his use of clutching hands. The kid can cover though.

The ratio including the safeties are more free agents for 2025.

    Home grown: 5

    Free agents, trades: 12

These numbers are ones on the active roster at this time.

Don't understand your generalization. No one says it's all coaching. Whoever the parrots are I think are legitimately questioning the coaching this team receives. I have my doubts about both sides of the ball. So if that makes me a parrot I'll go sit in a tree

Two positions the hardest to figure, and why they have the most misses in the draft, for every team is.....QB, and CB.

No it's the Parroting of stuff like....the scheme. Yet when I show people that we have actually run different schemes from the different DC, then they don't know what to say, because they are so used to saying, the scheme , the scheme....like they are tattoo on Fantasy Island, or something. People act like we have been running the exact same thing for 10 years , or something. Because they really can't tell the difference, and so when one person starts saying it, then it becomes a freaking chorus, and they don't even know what they are saying, most of the time. That's what becomes maddening. For instance, we didn't run the Defense last year, like the year right before that . So which scheme, what precisely are people saying, besides.....it didn't win a playoff game.

Come on , I like Wilson, but even if they were equal in all ways, which they aren't, just being able to see over the OL, and not having to find lanes to see down the field is a upgrade.

As annoying as Cowherd is with his constant gushing over Sean Peyton, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson and Jim Harbaugh.... he's been right about the Steelers offense and Mike Tomlin. Steelers are tone deaf on offense.... and Popcorn either needs to retire or get the hell out of the way and let Arthur Smith have full control like Arians did from '07 to '11.

Kyle Shanahan is supposed to be an offensive genius, but he traded up for QB Trey Lance .

Wilson started 11 games and threw 16 TDs, he held the ball too long and didn't use the MOF enough. If Rodgers stays healthy he will be an upgrade.

True but he also make the super bowl with the last pick of the 2022 draft at the QB position and Jimmy G had great number under Shanahan too and make the super bowl once, almost twice with him!
