I read an article that said if MT would stop interfering with what the OC and DC are calling, we may improve the situation we get into on the field. MT is nothing better than an overpaid cheerleader. Now if this continues in 2025 we are back to the same old, same old. If I were a coach I would resent him interfering with what ever I’m calling. I know he is the head coach but in reality they are just words in our situation.

May I ask where did you find that article?! I definitley agree with the overall conclusion but would like to see its context in its entirety. Would mean a lot if you could get that for me!

It was probably a MSNBC article. They pop up all the time for me on my laptop and I don’t even read them cause they are so far fetched it’s almost as if some alien from another planet wrote it.

I admire an OP that uses a thread title that is clear and concise

I think it was actually just one of the thousands of posts on this forum that says that. :lolol:

Do you have proof MT interferes with what the OC is calling? He said he gives his OC autonomy.

3 different OC's, 6 different starting QB's dating back to Ben and the middle of the field is treated like a no fly zone. What else could it be?

Looks like the 54th Tomlin/Flanders-Rooney National Guard unit has been mobilised again.

Needless to say I get tons of articles about the Steelers. Catchy headlines that used to grab me but now I see it's all speculative bullcrap. That said, I did see an article about what OP is posting about. I just gave it a very quick glance like I did with the other 5. I was on MSM.com at the time. I get a kick out of the articles that state, I've been hearing....... they never seem to say who their hearing from.

Wilson threw to middle of the field quite often this season .

Are there easy to find stats on this

You seem to be good at finding stuff like this

Ditto maybe when Rudolph was here for comparison

    Just a thought

Agree. This is a myth that needs to go away. Smith offense utilitzed middle much more than Canada offense.

I remember those passing charts during the season it seemed Wilson used the MOF more than they had in recent years.

    Agree completely

This is my gut feeling or IMO

This started in 2019 when Ben went down. Tomlin got a LOT of National media recognition for keeping team competitive wo a franchise QB n Mike fell in Love w the attention n style of play

Pretty much the same game plan/off scheme since then IMO. Tweaks here n there, BUT he desires to win this way as it flatters him

Not consistently. But yeah, you’re right definitely more than we had seen over the last few years. But something smells fishy.

I don't think Arthur Smith would've agreed to the job if he was going to be micromanaged, I could see it happening with Fichtner and Canada though.

yeah he did. When the o line opened up a field of vision to the middle of the field Wilson did throw it there. The guy is 5-11 and 36 years old. He needs help to be successful. Healthy O line, solid receiver group and good OC support. We really couldn't provide all that in 24. Maybe in 25, but Wilson doesnt have much time left. I didnt like the playcalling, too predictable, not enough effort to stretch defenses. I think its likely Tomlin got his hands into the playcalling.
