I didn't think this would hurt so bad

Earlier this year, I said if we didn't get to the Super Bowl, I wanted Manning to get a ring since this is probably his last try. When we had to go against them, I really thought I wouldn't be as sad if we lost this game. Especially after beating the Bengals. But I am sad and disappointed and a little sick.

There's 6 points left on the table when Tomlin decided to put faith in the punter (who sucked today) instead of Boswell (who was solid, as always). Who knows what would've happened if we would've made those field goals!
Running instead of passing in the second half hurt us too. It's bad when we have to struggle 10 times harder because Tomln makes horrible decisions.
I really thought that Wheaton & Tavis were going to step up today. I WAS WRONG! They were disappointing to say the least. It's sad that the loss of one player can impact us so much.
WE lost this game. Besides the one turnover- they didn't do anything great to have win. WE dropped balls, WE made bad decisions, WE settled for field goals (because of bad decisions), WE fumbled. (I'm cool if we get rid of Toussaint this offseason.)
One thing you cannot do is blame Big Ben Roethlisberger. He played better than I thought he would.
They just said the only team to throw for over 300 yards against the Denver defense is us. And we did it twice.
I'm not gonna talk about the BS play where Peyton gave himself up.

It hurts because I'm not sure how many more years Ben has. He deserves another ring.
It hurts because the Patriots won their game & I don't know if the Broncos can beat them. The Patriots may end up in the Super Bowl again & that disgusts me.

Any loss is disappointing and hurts but we were really lucky to be in the playoffs. Plus we knocked the bungles out. There's a great group of players with this team. If everyone is healthy we win it all. Good shot of that next year!

I'm with you. I would be less upset if they blew our doors off. Playing so well and losing it late makes it worse for me.

I may be one of the few who feels this way but I'm proud of the way we played this year. To steal a phrase from Tomlin we were basically on "life support" and were still a fumble away from possibly heading to a Championship game.

I'm just as bummed out as anyone else but this kind of loss is understandable and, as stated before, I'm proud of the way we played.

I feel the same way. We got lucky to get in, then we got a little lucky to get by the Bengals. We are badly injured and probably had no business hanging in there against the donkeys, but yet we mostly looked like the better team. We could have beat them if we just executed a little better. That fact hurts a lot. It hurts more than I thought it was going to

For what ever reason, I'm at peace with this loss. Sure, I wanted to win. It just wasn't out year. I'm upbeat about next season.

I hope toussaint rode back to Pittsburgh in the lavatory for that ball control that caused the fumble.

I agree, Sojourner. Despite a ton of injuries to key personnel, the Steelers played hard and took the #1 seed in the AFC down to the wire in their stadium. I'm proud of them, too.

To the OP chin up, there has to be a loser and can't win em all. This team never gave up, injuries caught up. We kinda lucked out way here so don't get too bent up. We got playoff experience for some guys and there will be upswing

It hurts because they should have won the game. Also, 2nd playoff loss in a row they lost because of a back-up running back. Defense also played one of their best games of the season against Peyton Manning. We played in our fears, so much for 30 points per a game.

I'm ok with the loss. We should have won. Denver didn't impress me at all. But we fumbled our chance to win (no pun int... ok, pun intended).

As long a NE doesn't win it all, I'm really ok with this season. We were snake bit from the start, and still managed to go as far as we did.

Next year looks to be very promising, assuming we shore up that secondary. Let's also fix that whole losing games we have no business losing thing...

I think I may be more upset that this loss essentially gives the Pats a bye to the Superbowl than the fact that we are out. I think we had a much better shot at taking them out than the Broncos will next week. The Pats won't let Manning get away with throwing ducks without picking at least 2. I can't believe we couldn't get at least 1.
