I am confused, so the question is what is a good win?

    Fans get piss when we lose to teams on paper we suppose to beat. (To include me). Then I start reading other threads and the same fans are piss cause we beat a bad team by 13. So my question is this;
    1. How many points should you beat a team with a losing record, to include one that see you twice, possibly 3 times a year?
    2. Are all teams in the NFL professional?
    3. If you out score the other team by .01 yes I said .01 do you get a L or W?
Lastly when we lose its fire everyone, Team was not prepared. This week I have not seem the fire everyone thread. Shoot I have not seem one thread bashing Tomlin for going for six instead of another field. ( I forgot Bell scored, thank the Heaven)

I'm happy with the win. A win is a win. Some weeks you look like a dominant force, others you barely scrape by with a win versus a bad opponent. The common theme is that you pick up that win and you move on.

I'll say this... good teams find ways to win, bad teams find ways to lose. Just gotta win, I care less about style points. Had we won 6-3 or 7-0 by a blocked punt I still would be happy.

I'm happy with the win but really we should have beat that lousy Cleveland Browns team by at least 30. The Steelers did enough to win but the opposing team looked like they were still playing a scrimmage game.

On to Indy where I just hope we get out of there with a W no matter how much we score.

We left some points on the field, but the aim seemed to be control the clock, play sensible offense, use the run game and not go deep too much when the wind was the way it was.

That's never going to put up massive scores, but we also never looked like we were going to lose.

I'll take 19 1 points wins all season long.

16 1 point losses will still make you 0-16.

A win is a win a loss is a loss. Put this win behind us and move on to Indy, on a short week.

After a week of everybody getting thrown under the bus, and being on a 4 game losing streak, this team should've crushed the 0-10 stains!!, but they didn't, it was only a 8 point lead until the fumble. = pathetic!! Hopefully they get things figured out and get hot at the right time. ( but I doubt it since Tomlin is the coach/cheerleader)

Yesterday was a good and much needed win. The Cleveland Browns are a bad team and we did what we were supposed to do and beat them.
We control the game from start to finish. We were never in any jeopardy of losing that game.
We had a game plan based on the opponent and the weather conditions and save for a few penalties and mental errors we executed to perfection.
We did exactly what a good majority of the people around here say we never do.

Ask for some fans not being happy about the win.
These are the people who spew their negativity and doom and gloom about how terrible the Steelers are all week long Then when we when they're upset because they were wrong and say stuff like yeah we won but.....
These people are never happy unless we obliterate the opposing team and even then they still find stuff to complain about.

When you out score your opponents by playing in harmony, playing in position finishing games with minimal bumps & bruises is a good game!

The Patriots scored 17 points in the 4th quarter vs. the 1-8 49ers on the road. I wish the Steelers could do that.

It is a case of Schrodinger's win in which it is both good and bad at the same time. But when you observe the game, the wave-form collapses into a W in the win column.

It's simple and I'm not sure why people don't understand it. Every Steelers fan is happy after a win, even if it's a close, ugly win against the worst team in football. With that said, we also recognize that the results of a game against the worst team in football might not translate to success against better teams in the league. We recognize that although we won, if we don't play better, we're not going to have success down the stretch and/or in the playoffs.

If I was a Browns fan, I'd be satisfied with one win. As a Steelers fan, I expect playoffs most years. Unreasonable perhaps, but that's the standard this organization has set for itself and it's one they've mostly lived up to. So while an individual win is enjoyable, as a fan of a team that has set the bar high, I want more. I want to be in the playoffs and I want to play good football consistently. If we lose to a better team, so be it, but I just want to be in the playoffs and want to see good football. As a Steelers fan, that's actually not a lot to ask for because this franchise has given that to us more often than not

I would still be happy with the win, but I'd also be nervous that we weren't going to have success against the better teams. You're right though, good teams find ways to win.

When you dominate, it should show up on the scoreboard. It is just frustrating and fans just vent.

Some of the most memorable losses (for me) we have had are those where we dominated, yet lost. Dominating and barely winning dredges up bad memories. There was a game against Houston where we allowed only about 50 yards and we lost. There was a game against the Raiders where we allowed only about 100 yards and we lost. Then, the mother of all unforgettable`s, the loss to the Chargers in the `94 AFC Championship game. It`s sickening and disturbing when it happens.

The Patriots struggled to put up 13 points in the 1st 3 quarters vs the 49ers. The glass can be looked at as half empty with any team.

You predicted we lose by 14 points and we won by 15 points. So what's the problem?

On a similar note - I was listening to Sirius NFL radio this AM, and a Chiefs fan called in lambasting Alex Smith and the team. Ross Tucker cut the guy off and barely restrained himself from using profanity when he said "are you kidding me? Your team went into yesterday on a 17-2 streak." He then dumped the call. Every team has fans that are just going to be sour if their team isn't perfect. It is what it is.

There will be very little wind at Lucas Oil Stadium. I feel like the weather played a little into us pounding the run.

I would have been happy with a 1 point win against the Browns yesterday if that took us to 7-3 or 8-2. Instead, it enabled us to crawl back up to .500 for the season. Yay! We lost to teams we should have beaten this year (Dolphins, Rats) and got totally obliterated by the Eagles. We weren't even competitive that game! Our defense did its best impersonation of swiss cheese in the Cowboys game. Like I said, a win is better than a loss, but it's extremely frustrating that we're at .500 10 games in and are going to have to scramble like mad to squeak in with the 6th seed!

We will have to win the division to get in, which means we won't be 6th
