Why not three games of Vick were enough to say he wasn't that bad.

Well right now, Myron, he's not the quarterback of the future, he's the quarterback of the present.

    Sleep well, my friend. :roflmao:

Possibly the backup of the future. He was better than Vick, and IMO looked better than I've seen Grad look since he beat us with the Raiders. We may find out a lot more next week.

Im aware of that. I questioned why Vick was starting over him 3 weeks ago.

In all seriousness, Jones reminds me a little bit of Neil O'Donnel. He's got a quick release and I think he'll be able to manage a game effectively if he has adequate weapons around him.

The feeling I had today when Jones replaced Vick was comparable to the feeling I had when O'Donnel replaced Brister back in 92.

You keep mistaking posters, thats Jack :lolol:

Come on Myron, man up, you didnt think Landry would play as well as he did today. Never mind long term, you didnt think it possible for even a series.

    Kid shined though :drinks:

Bottom-line: He came in today, got the ball to the play makers and got us a very needed W while our #1 is out.
Next game is next game. I'll take this win against an extremely good O and D and savor it!

Because Vick is a veteran with starting experience.

I may not be on the bandwagon, but I am paying attention to its schedule. The guy certainly has earned the right to start next week.

Outside of injuries, everything is working out well for the Steelers up to this point of the season.

I'm glad I could answer your question.

Heyyy, the REAL real steel is back.

Lucky it was Landry, Vick would have hit the fan in the 3rd row.

Did you miss the hot read to Heath? Did you miss the back shoulder to AB? Did you miss the first td to Bryant?

True, but he had four throws that were pretty impressive. The first TD to Bryant, the over/under down the middle of the field to Bryant, the back shoulder throw to AB and the quick throw to Heath on third down.

    THOSE were NFL throws, friends!

Oof. Has anyone reported this post yet? I didn't need anyone drumming up memories of the fabled Bruce Almighty Game. ;)

On a serious note, I agree on Landry's performance. I truly cannot see how Haley or Tomlin could choose to go back to Vick next week should the decision present itself. It's not about whether Jones is anything other than better than Vick. 1.5 quarters is an extremely small sample size, but he would have to drop his play down quite a few notches to belly out where Vick's has been thus far.

The sad thing is that barring Vick's old man hammy this thread wouldn't even exist.
