I never said you were against the pick. I was just pointing out why I felt Coates is a perfect fit for us.

I interpreted your post as... Collins = Golson which meant Lippett/Hardy > Coates.
If you feel Collins > Golson and Lippett/Hardy = Coates... I would disagree, but would understand more.

When I threw out the hypothetical, it was really intended for a point in time between rounds 3 and 4. There were very few corners left who had outside size and ample speed, but a few nice slot guys were there. In my view at that time it was literally Grant or maybe Shaw, and then on to guys like our last two failed 5th rounders. I was saying that I would have been more comfortable entering day 3 with J. Collins or Rowe, and waiting on a WR and slot corner than I was with Golson (who I really like) and Coates. In hindsight, Grant making it to our pick in the 4th really eased my concern. I didn't think he would be there, but he was. So I'm pretty darn pleased with how things turned out - but it was pretty dicey for me until Grant landed in our laps in the 4th.

SGS, I agree with you on Coates but what I am saying is I feel that the difference between Collins and Golson are a lot bigger then the difference between Coates and Hardy. Maybe cause I don't like Golson or maybe cause I am a little higher on Hardy, not sure. Either way it don't matter cause Golson and Coates are here and I am now a fan of both....

I would pick Golson/Coates over Rowe or Collins, and that's with the 20% drop rate of Coates.

Golson will play in this league for a long time with his demeanor and traits. He may be small but he'll stick to the hip pocket of many WR's, forcing the QB to make perfect throws. I don't think his size will be an issue; not many QB's can make a perfect throw into a 1 sq ft window consistently.

At worst Coates will be a Limas Sweed without the mental issues. I'll take that all day.

Rowe and Collins can be good players, but I wouldn't trade two for one.
