I would say that most teams wouldn't kick Bill to the curb ya know? He's sort of a lightning rod but I think if the Rooney's had made him an offer in 07 and he'd have taken it there wouldn't have been too many genuine complaints. But here's a guy that I think is probably a good coach that I think would have been a good Steeler type guy too and it's Mike McCarthy. I don't really like him PERSONALLY but I do consider him a good coach. But I would still take Bill over him any day of the week, month, year, decade, century, millenia, eternity. But I guess if I graded Tomlin it would be like this. Discipline- C-, Motivation-A, Clock Mgmt-F, Cool under pressure-Bplus. The thing I mean by discipline is I just don't think we play enough disciplined football. I'm speaking ESPECIALLY of "Special" teams. I mean Tomlin fired the Special Teams coach and maybe that was a mistake. So I would put the special teams performance on him ya know? But then again maybe you could say how bad COULD it be if he DIDN'T fire the guy???

not sure how you come up with an A for motivation when we have played so uninspired in several games , a motivator would have you playing inspired at all times would he not ?

Well the reason I say that is because in 08 the players said that Tomlin really helped them to stay motivated because the schedule was really brutal but he sorta got them to believe that they were just too good to be beaten. His Tomlinism for that year was "this game is a 5 star matchup because we are in it." Ultimately we went all the way that year and I just thought that was a really good way to build up a sense that your team feels you have their back. Also I've heard them talk about things like in practice that Ben would out throw Wallace at full stride and Tomlin would stop the practice just to brag on Ben. Just little things like that was what I was meaning. But I can see what you are saying too.
