If the Steelers could somehow land a 1A WR would you like to see Claypool moved to TE?? I think he and Muth as a combo could be the closest thing to Gronk and Hernandez that we've seen in awhile??

Or has this been discussed already??

The guy can’t block. No way he can play tight end.

One thing I noticed on film; Canada has a bunch of 'slower' developing plays.
That might mean a fake or an option or two take place or the route is a slower route pending on another clearing an area.
The Offensive Line blocking was spectacular.

They could use a speedster to force the Defense to defend - a complimentary WR so to say.
They could upgrade the line to provide that timing.
The new QB probably won't be entrusted to call his own plays.

They have the RB to force the Safeties up but in doing so, they didn't pass block well so team could pressure.
Canada's plays seem to get people open, but it is the breakdowns that kill them.
Offsides, give up a sack, drop a catch etc,.....

Hes more lazy than not being able to block...he did pretty good leading Najee down the sideline in the Baltimore win. It's about effort with him I feel more than know how.

Claypool doesn't like to block as a WR what makes you think he would want to block as a TE?

I agree he would need to put on at least 20 pounds minimum.

A position change is almost never the answer for struggling players. Claypool needs to work on his catch mechanics and his lateral movements in order to get open instead of trying to bulk up and be a receiving TE. If they wanted him to do that, they should just put him in the slot. It accomplishes nearly the same thing.

Also, there are 27 WR's making over 10 mil a season... There are 7 TE's that make that same amount. Top WR salary is 27mil a year, and the top TE salary is 15mil a year.... You think a "me" centric kid is gonna take a position change that will likely mean he is going to make less money because of it? Hell no.

Adding weight equals loosing speed. It’s nice to dream, but it’s not happening.

He only needs to add 15 pounds to match Ebron. Ebron isn't even the lightest TE out there.

As a mainly receiving TE, going again LB's or Safeties that are slower than top CB's ... I think it could work.

To consider it, I think Steelers would need to add more than just 1 WR threat.

I don't know what to say about Chase: he isn't a deep threat burner, he doesn't explode out of his breaks well, not a crisp route runner. Maybe it was Ben, maybe? Next season is going to be big for him.

Because he was a TE for Steelers, and a majority of TE's out there are mainly glorified receivers nowadays.

Anyways, reports are breaking JuJu is saying he is gone. So we'll definitely be needing to find another WR...

You're trying to convince people who claim that tomlin never makes second half adjustments, and then after the steelers win a game with a second half comeback, claim that tomlin never makes second half adjustments. It's the narrative, it never changes, and if facts prove it wrong, its still the narrative, it never changes.

Making a block on the edge vs a DB is nothing like making a block at the point of attach vs a LB.

Claypool as a TE makes only slightly less sense than those here who suggest that we should use him as a RB like Deebo. If you watched the playoffs, you saw Deebo run the ball in traffic at times, not just out on the edge. That's not Claypool.

People looking for ways to use Claypool besides at wideout says it all about his performance as a wideout this year.
