Hustle

I saw a lot of our guys hustling out there today but two stood out and I wanted to give them some recognition. The first was Lawrence Timmons. When Big Play intercepted his pass Timmons was on the ground but he got up ran to the end zone and cleared the way for Willie to get in!


The second was Will Johnson our fullback. He laid a really nice block that stopped a defender from getting to Bell on his 13 yard touchdown!


I was very impressed with their hustle in particular, feel free to point out others too.

 

I noticed Bryant looking a lot more aggressive then his usual rookie self. In the first half he went right at the defender and gained an extra 5 yards. He had opportunities all day that he will definitely get better at taking advantage of them. Can't wait to watch him grow into a very solid receiver!

 

Williams, Pouncy, DeCastro and Heath were haulin and kickin some a$$ today as well.

 

I'm happy that he's not growing into a one-hit wonder like Mike Wallace. I was really afraid that he was going to settle into a "it's a deep route or nothing" type of receiver, but I've been pleasantly surprised.

And an extra shout-out to Willie Gay. Not only the Pick 6, but he broke up a pass later in the game, as well.

 

I saw the same thing with Timmons on the interception and Johnson with a great block to spring Bell on that touchdown. Also saw Shamanko Thomas on kickoffs hustling down and doing good stuff against Hester.
