Yeah take away literally 6 superstars and were a bad team... lol

Take away Brady, Gronk, McCourty, Edelman, Hightower, and Butler and the Pats wouldn’t be any better than the Browns

Last year Miami worked the Steelers in the regular season and than the Steelers took their manhood in the playoffs. Doesn't mean anything.

Bell needs 17 yards to win the rushing title. Not one series for him to get that?

One more option would be start play the backups, but if the Jets game is close in the 3rd quarter, put in some starters. Unless Brady gets hurt, the Jets have no chance.

It would be awesome if Jones built an entire career of just playing Cleveland. 12 years of amazing stats, with a footnote disclaimer.

    Isn’t Gurley still playing?

Where did the 17 yards come from? I’ve noticed a few conflicting accounts about the rushing title.

You know, I might have to change my stance on this after thinking a bit.
I live in the Philadelphia market, so I get a lot of Eagles coverage. They were talking to I believe Fletcher Cox the other day and he mentioned that he wanted to play in the Eagles finale because the only way to stay sharp is through actual game reps. Since the CBA has pretty much eliminated full contact practices, the players need at least some reps at game speed. I say that the starters should get a few series, unless they're nursing some kind of injury. Maybe they should treat this one like preseason game #3.

I tend to agree with this, but the Jags are much better than the Dolphins. lol

I hope Gilbert was wrong concerning Ben and Bell’s participation this weekend. Actually not so much Bell, but Ben. Ben has always seemed to start slow after having a week or two off.

I wonder if the starters coming in cold off the bench in the 3rd would help facilitate injury? Standing around the sidelines the first half then stressed with trying to win the game may have a bad outcome. I've never seen a team do that before, but I could be wrong.

Agree Ben is the one to worry about after not playing for a couple of weeks. He is a rhythm type QB who get's in a groove when he is clicking. It took him several games this year to get that groove. Hopefully he doesn't loose it with his time off, like he has in the past. I wish he would play at least a couple of series.

I was thinking more about this. What would the season have been like with none of those guys?

Jones is a typical backup QB who can only look good in flashes but is still better than Kizer. Conner looked pretty decent in limited action this year -- can we say for sure he is less of a back than Crowell?

You would still have two pretty talented receivers in JuJu and Bryant. The o-line would still be serviceable. The defense would be in trouble but you would still have Haden and Hilton, who are very good, and Burns, who has been disappointing but who still is a legit NFL starter.

Like I said before, that is probably a 3-4 win team. But, man, Cleveland is running dudes out there who really have no business in the NFL. The de-weaponized Steelers would still be better.

I just had a bet placed for $1,000.00 on the Browns taking the 11 points. I hope and think the Steelers win the game but not by 11 points.

I like your chances on that bet. The Browns do not want to finish 0-16, and they will be playing a lot harder than they would be if they were 1-14 heading in.

CBS.sports had it wrong and I mistakenly used their numbers. My bad.

Gurley is currently in the lead. He is not playing Sunday. Hunt might play, though.

I had heard that they took the game off the board. Must be back up?

The Stains pose a tough matchup for the Steelers even at full strength. They are kinda like the Chicago Bears as far as matchups go. Tough strong running game can gash our defense. The wildcard is their idiot coach Hue Jackson who will probably try to throw the ball when the recipe in this game should be pound the rock, and play solid defense (two things they actually can do). His coaching puts your bet in peril. Otherwise I'd take browns +9. Jackson is an idiot so who knows.

If they dump Jackson, and play this draft right (build their defense) the Browns can be a wildcard team next year. There are vet QBs out there that they could sign while letting their #1 pick sit. Nothing in the past 20 years shows that they will do any of what I just wrote however

I agree about Jones and Kizer, but Conner is out for the season with an injury. The Steelers will roll with Fitz and Ridley if Bell doesn't see any action.

I'm surprised no one has issue with the fact that we are benching Ben and Bell this week. What if the Patriots lose and we lose?

Maybe the plan is to start our back ups... if the Jets start beating the cheaters they throw Ben in ?

Which would put Roethlisberger at an even higher risk for injury than if he had simply started the game.

    http://triblive.com/sports/columnists/kevingorman/13123870-74/story

A little history lesson for all of you, courtesy Kevin Gorman of the Tribune-Review. The Patriots, who entered the final week with a 12-3 record, lost to the 5-10 Dolphins, 20-10, in the final game of the 2015 regular season. That lost cost them the top seed. The Patriots then lost the AFC Championship game to the Broncos in Denver.

The more thought I put into it and the more I read, the more convinced I am that it is a terrible decision for the Steelers to sit Roethlisberger and Bell Sunday. Some of you are going to have a sick feeling that might never go away if the Patriots and Steelers both lose Sunday.

I think it`s a terrible decision not to make the starters at least play the 1st half.

    Ah right, no problem.

I do wonder about all these announcements about who is and isn’t playing. The schedule is set so nobody knows the key results for them prior to playing... I wonder if it’s a bit of smoke and mirrors, league wide. Or else nobody in the NFL seems to care about seeding, which would be odd.

One thing for sure is now the game is worth watching. We will see if our backups are better than the Brownie starters.

I say it`s a pick-em game. I bet the desperate for a win Brownies lead at the half.
