I say play for the number 1 seed. Nothing would be sweeter than having the traitor have to come back to Pittsburgh and get booed, beat, and humiliated. It’s personal now.

Play the starters, kick their asses in the first half. Then put the backups in, with Dobbs playing every offensive snap

I am hoping to see some Dobbs this week however that would mean someone will have to be taken off the 53 man......oh boy here we go again! lol.

Unfortunately we play at the same time as the cheats, so I think it changes since we don't know their outcome in advance. With that said, I think playing the starters the first half is probably more than enough. If the cheats are up by a wide margin at halftime, no sense keeping any starters in since you cannot gain a higher seed. If jets-cheats are close, then I'd have to re-think it.

If anyone is slightly banged up, I'm not playing them though.

Play starters, hopefully get a few TD's, then look at scoreboard and see there is no way in hell the Jets will beat aholes, and then take out all starters.

Do they honestly even need the starters to play this game, regardless of the NE-NYJ game? The Browns are in worse shape than the Texans. Landry and the B team should be able to beat them.

Play the starters. People pay their hard earned dollars to to not watch Landry Jones and Steven Ridley, and the back up center from Northwestern Oklahoma school of the Polytech.

That being said, if your into the 4th qt. your ahead by double digits, and the Pats are smoking the NY Jets.

I'd start pulling some of the starts out of the game.

I know they are 0-15 but they have played tough and look at their games many were decided by a touchdown or less. These guys are not as bad as their record says they are.....

Have to play to win , but as stated above only use the most healthy guys . Keep watching the Pats score and as long as it is close you keep going for the win . At any point that game gets out of reach pull our key guys and get ready for the post season.

Pats aren't losing to the Jets. Play the starters one series so they don't have 2 full weeks off. Then put n the 2nd tier guys like JH2, ohh that's right....

devils advocate here....they also pay even more to see those starters in the playoffs. Its a risk either way imo, play the starters and risk an injury or play the back ups and risk a loss/seeding or starters getting some rust (which I am on the fence with).

    No limping into Playoffs.
This is a great opportunity while Brown is out to work some other guys in.
When it looks evident that a win is in hand, sub out hard.

I'm not a huge fan of having guys not play for over 2 weeks. Last year made more sense. As the Steelers had nothing to gain at all win or lose. It didn't matter. Plus they were in the WC round, and would have no bye week. So it made all the more sense to rest stars.

This game means a little more as there is a very slim shot at the 1 seed.

I think it will come down to scoreboard watching. If Pats are blowing the Jets out. Your will see some stars pulled.

Personally I would really like an undefeated AFC North record, the Steelers have only done that 2 times since 2002 when it was formed.

Play everyone and go for the jugular early and rest our starters if we have a three score lead in the second half. Then hope against hope that the Jets can take care of business.

Good lord Bryce Petty playing for the Jets at QB this week.

I think Richard Petty or even Tom Petty (RIP) would be better options.

I so hope Tomlin doesn't have the same mindset as these fans on here, but I'm afraid after reading that he isn't sure about playing starters that he is about to have an epic meltdown. You don't tell the press something like that mid-week. Do what Bellicheck would do.. LIE. Say something like "nothing has changed going into a hard division rivalry game". At this point #1 seed is up for grabs, and you just gave your competition slight motivation that with a TON still on the line that you think you can play your 2nd string and beat them.

The Stains haven't packed it in, and they have a solid defense. They have their annual #1 overall draft pick locked up so a win doesn't hurt that. They don't want to be 0-16 anymore than anybody else. We are their last chance. We will get every bit of energy, gadget play, go for broke that is left in them. Playing for pride can be a b*tch.

The last thing you want is to answer 2 weeks of questions about how losing to a 0-15 team will affect you going into the playoffs.

I would play to win. Maybe go in with the plan to have Ridley get more of the workload and save Bell, but the rest starts. Get up by 2 scores at half. Play a cautious start of the 3rd, and if nothing changes start pulling starters. Supposedly we are not to "live within our fears" anyway.

The game means nothing. Ben, Bell, Haden, Heyward, Tuitt, Pouncey, DeCastro, AV, Foster, McDonald and JuJu should sit. The cheats are not going to lose to the Jets. But, the cheats will play all their starters to make sure they don't slip up and I feel the Jets would love to be the spoiler. Maybe Harrison throws out his back. The clowns are a shell in which our 2nd team can take them. Can't risk ANY major injuries to the starters.

I hope the Steelers sit most of the starters. The 2nd string can win a home game vs. Browns.

So lets throw out a hypoethical scenario. We sit most of our starters and we lose to the Browns. At the same time, the Pats lose to the Jets. How angry would you be with our coaches? It's not like it's a far fetched scenario. The Pats just lost to the Dolphins not long ago. The Pats can be beaten, even by inferior teams. It doesn't happen a lot, but it's not so rare that it's unthinkable. We started the season off aiming for the #1 seed and I don't see how that has changed. Besides, do we really want our starters sitting for 2 full weeks?

Jets offense without McCown is terrible and won't be able to put up enough points to win, IMO. Unless the Jets D plays off the charts, they have no chance in hell.
