How to defend the Steelers offense for dummies

It seems pretty easy this year.

1. Rush 4 DL -- tell them to keep their hands up to tip/bat Ben's passes
2. Keep 8 defenders within 5 yards of the LOS - the Steelers bread and butter play is the 2 yard pass
3. Single high safety - Steelers rarely throw deep so no need to drop 2 safeties; heck you could probably play 0 coverage and not get burned all game
4. Play coverage, always - Steelers run game is non-existent so focus on tackling the catch

If you stick to this the following will be the most common result:

1st down - run for 0 to -4 yards
2nd down - 2 yard pass, no RAC
3rd down - tipped/deflected pass
4th down - punt

You will also get 3-4 tipped passes a game, at least one of which will result in a INT.

Lol, i couldn't say any better myself, that is their exact formula.

 

Well, they didn't really figure out the offense since we self destructed more than anything. Even that terrible dink and dunk Brady ball would have gotten us the win with any 3 of the 6-7 drops turning into completions.

 

Offense did well enough to get 14 points in 1st half and still not playing all that good. Issue I have is lack of adjustments made at halftime. Skins obviously did and with 3pts the whole 2nd half we obviously didn't. I don't have a lot of faith in our coaches to change or adjust and seem to favor their routines.
