No, he is a 3rd team QB on a bad Jaguar team who hasn't played a down all season and probably won't. He certainly isn't the answer at QB for any team.

Welcome aboard hope you stick around for some good conversation. For me Dobbs is an afterthought, I have zero regrets about trading him, jmo.

    Hey NY STEELERFAN.

Yes, he was a temporary flavor based on a play or two here or there. Nothing special. I did state that he added a speed component to our QB position which may have been used for a gadget play or two. However, not enough to justify keeping him. Some were infatuated with his book smarts. Seems that his credentials in that regards are very impressive. However, nothing that transferred into being a dynamic "Football Player". I also have no regrets on his release.

don’t much matter what anyone says, MR outplayed him and the Steelers moves on and they got a draft pick. It is easy for many to look back and say coulda woulda shoulda now that Ben is out and MR crapped the bed. However if you go back and check the Dobbs traded threat you will see not many is any were against the trade. It is what it is.....

    Hey NY.

No, I agree. Mason definitely outplayed him on merit alone and earned the job straight-up. It is all about competition; just like any job, let the best person "win". No arguments from me who was the Better Performing QB.

I think the Steelers made the right decision trading Dobbs and keeping Rudolph as the #2 based on what they knew at the time. However, at the time I don’t think they could have foreseen how Rudolph’s play has spiraled downward since his concussion. If the Jags released Dobbs, I’d grab him and part ways with Lynch. Dobbs isn’t going to light the league on fire, but I think he could be better than the current gun-shy version of Rudolph, especially with his ability to escape pressure and make plays with his feet.

I agree 100% nobody can predict what MR was gonna do they could only make a decision on what they saw. Many here have admitted MR out played Dobbs and the trade was good. Looking back NOW it is easy to say we should have kept him. I do like bringing Dobbs back if he was released we would have nothing to lose. I know some here are like it don't matter if we make the playoffs we will get smoke anyways. I however feel different, it is like the lotto....you never know but one thing for sure you can't win it if you ain't in it. The way this D is playing we just need a spark, imo.
