Don't understand the hatred for the Pats. I don't want them to win games, but I will cheer for them over a division rival every day of the week. A Bengals win hurts our chances at a playoff spot, no one in their right mind should be cheering for that.

Yeah, don't get rooting for the Bengals, no matter how much you hate the Patriots.

I respect the organization but really hate Brady and BB for many different reasons. I can't ever really pull for them so for today I am just hoping for a Bengals loss and not thinking about what that means:roflmao:
I believe the term is plausible deniablity

I like both Brady and BB. I don't root for them to win, but I respect how they approach the game. I'd take either on this team in a second, especially BB

I may hate Belicheat and Brady and the Patsies, but I have an immense amount of respect for them too. Belichick is the kind of HC that views a football game as a chess match. I guarantee you that during critical times in each game, he's already thought through every possible scenario that could take place and is ready to make a decision.

I thought it was interesting watch him on the sidelines one series where he is over with the Lber's showing them snapshots or plays or something and crossing things off while the offense is on the field. The guy is insane about prepping and adjusting on the fly.

My views on Brady are closest to your views on Ben. I think he has benefited from who his coach is more than any player ever in the NFL. It chaps my backside when people compare him to Montana or Elway. I will say I respect BB's prep, he palns like no other coach on the planet. I still say he has a secret vault somewhere that has miles an miles of tape on every team, every play, every player, every hand signal, and so on. I think his is that obsessive that he has secret crews getting him game film to watch. I did get a kick out of the whole Goodell sayign he was going to apologize and Bill goes yeah i didn't say that and I'm not going to. that was priceless.

I was at the game when Brady said he "hated this stadium/place"

from that date forward I want nothing but losing for that org.

...and right now in Boston, someone is starting a thread about trading Tom Brady for draft picks.

I have no idea how any of yinz can say that you have respect for Belicheat. Everyone wants to say he's genius, a chess player, a football guru and all then why did he have to spygate in order to win championship(s). Jeez, There is no doubt that he cheated in order to beat the Steelers in the AFCCG but you bafoons continue to give him credit>

I can't understand the love, like, or respect for Belichick. How a Steelers fan could even like the Patriots is beyond me.

finally someone who feels me :)

    I dont get it either.

I am so happy to see Brady walk off the field losing for the first time against the Bengals.

If we have to rely on other teams to win our division we are in trouble

Come on, guys. You can respect another organization, coach, etc. without liking them or rooting for them. I do respect Belichick and the Pats. I respect Ozzie Newsome and the Rats. I can't stand them but I respect them. I think they run their organizations the right way and that's why they're competitive year in and year out. I guarantee you if you ask the Rooneys, Colbert, Tomlin, et al, they've got a great deal of respect for those organizations.

Oh no doubt, but how anyone can say they respect Belichick is beyond me. Can't remotely understand it. Newsome- sure, OK. Apples and oranges completely, though. That doesn't come easily for me either, because I dislike the Ravens more than I can easily express.

I can't stand the guy and I understand what you're getting at in questioning how anyone could respect the fact that he cheated with Spygate. I guess I should clarify that I respect his work ethic, his abilities as a strategist, his uncanny ability to get the most out of mediocre talent, in-game management skills, etc. But let me make it perfectly clear that I LOATHE the guy!

Read you loud and clear. I also find those to be amiable qualities in a coach.

I can't recall where it was off hand, but there was a passage in a book that detailed how BB would go on tour interviewing potential draft picks. He'd go through quite a bit of effort to test their football IQ and understanding of the Patriots schemes. He'd show them tape from their bad plays in college the second they walked in the door, and ask them to explain what happened. Then, he'd diagram a Pats play and ask them to explain it, or quiz them after he explained it to them etc. He's certainly no dum dum. :smiley1:
