This is a 7 win team at best no matter who the QB is. Look at the schedule, we play the NFC North and we play the Ravens and Bengals twice. That's 8 losses right there. Add in losses to the Bills and Chargers and that makes the Steelers 7-10 even if they win the rest of the games.

 

The Steelers overperformed and exceeded expectations in 2024. I think 8-9 is very possible.

It is hard to overcome the lack of QB and coherent offensive philosophy. This team can't effectively run the ball, has a terrible pass offense, and the defense scheme is not good enough to overcome those liabilities.

The Head Coach is not a force multiplier, he is more of a hindrance.

This is an average team with little chance of contending in the quarterback-rich AFC.

I really miss Heath. Having a good TE is a huge help for the offense. Muth is no Heath but I digress.

Wilson/Rodgers will probably get us 9. Mason maybe 7. Just a guess.

I tend to agree. I like when we play the NFC weakest division. Frigging NFCN is tough. We kind of lose a home game against the Packers.

In true Steeler fashion we'll beat Vikings, Packers and Lions but Bears whip our ass TBH we'd all be happy with that 3-1 regardless who kicked our ass.

The one thing missing on that is QB. I know you mentioned Russ, but Rodgers, Rudolph.... all the same thing to me. The QB situation will suck this year, but we've won 9+ games in each of the last 3 years with bad QB options; so, it is hard to argue that point. We will probably be a team right around .500. We were above .500 with Pickett/Trubisky/Rudolph, then again with Fields/Wilson. I am sure Wilson/Rudolph would find a way to be around .500.

My personal preference is to just roll Mason out there. Screw Rodgers, and TBH screw Russ at this point. Sign a short term back up/emergency guy like Flacco and just get ready to draft one in 2026. Hopefully by then we will have the playmakers on that side of the ball figured out.
