How many "washed up" QBs throw for 500+ yards a game?

He missed the wide open Conner on a 3rd down and tried to force one into AB who was in double coverage. Those ones drive me nuts, the closest guy to Conner was 20 yards away.

I'm hoping for one of those situations where the dog turns on it's owner.

Speaking of an anomaly, that would be the 5 ints; has he ever done that before? No. But he is the ONLY QB in the HISTORY of the NFL to throw for THREE 500+ yard games. Oops.

Also, Ben is #2 in the most passing yards in the entire NFL. #2. Does that sound like a washed up QB? I guess if you pass for the 2nd most yards in the league, you are really bad.

He has the 2nd most passing yards in the NFL on a team that lives to run the ball, with the league's most productive RB. How bad can he be?

He has a 91 passer rating and has the 2nd most passing yards in the entire NFL. That sure doesn't sound like "very inconsistent" to me.

Obviously statistics is not your strong point. Let me help you. On the way to averaging 91.1 he has had games of 37.8 to 117.4, and anything in between. That sir, is inconsistency by definition.

This and his improved accuracy make me think he had some injury earlier in the year that finally healed up.

He's thrown so many passes lately I think he's finally wore off the lack of pre-season playing rust.

He wants me to slip on ice. Little does he know that I'm in the snow and ice removal business. I never fall :coolcool:

Can we make like a list of everyone who thinks Ben is washed up, so we got it on record? Corse some of you would have been on that list after the Jags game, but have since changed their mind. Once you’re on that list there’s NO GoING baCK. Hehe.

This could be the case. A few weeks ago I was listening to Kirwan and Miller on SiriusXM NFL radio, and from their discussions with Ben he apparently doesn’t even throw in the off-season. He told one of them his first throwing that season was in camp. Could he have been over-rusty? Maybe.

I don't know about running for first downs, but he was still extending plays last season. He hasn't done it as much since Haley arrived, but he never stopped until the first half of this season, then he started doing it again the last month or so.

Who's saying he's bad? Why do some people always insist on treating everything like it's black and white. That's so annoying. Ben played like **** early in the year and now he's playing at a high level. Both facts can be true. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

I once thought AB was a mediocre WR who would never amount to anything, like most late draft picks. Then he proved me wrong and I changed my mind. I once thought Bell was more a power back, then he lost some weight and gained a ton of quickness and agility, and I changed my mind. I once thought Mario Lemieux was the greatest player in NHL history...oh wait, I still do.

Anyway, people change their minds, it happens a lot. I thought Ben's physical skills had deteriorated to the point where he was washed up. His play was proving me right. Now his play is proving me wrong. I'm glad I was wrong and I have changed my mind.

Agreed. However, I don't think anyone is disagreeing that he played bad in the first half of 2017 - but the OP was pointing out that some had said he is "washed up", which is clearly not true.

Who’s AB, Bell, or Ben gonna want as a fan. Someone who called them mediocre, washed up. Or someone that supported them when they weren’t playing well.

Don't you think you have to kind of measure a player's overall body of work? I mean, a running back has a 100 yard game. The next game the defense plans around his running ability, and he only manages 50 yards. Separately, it looks like he had a good game and a bad game. Let's say he is 50/50 for the season (8-100 yard games and 8-50 yard games). For the season he would have 1200 yards. Overall that is a pretty good season. Anyhow, the fact that we have one of the hottest quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs right now means would should all be able to agree how awesome and unique that is!

And how many games has he played in his career? I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make.

The point of my original post was one game isn’t an indicator of anything. The op is trying to imply that one game negates all of the garbage from earlier this year. I don’t think Ben is washed up, but he is certainly on the decline.
