I can picture Wallace doing what Fitzgerald did to us in the SB.. Run up the zipper, I see big numbers coming for Wallace.

I think he'll be gone the first time he lines the offense up on 3rd and 1 with 5 wide and an empty backfield. Hell, that could happen in camp!

I think our offense will be more potent than in years past if the players buy into him and his philosophy. If there's no chemistry then we won't see much difference, better or worse.

The ratio of constructive comments you make versus criticism of others' comments is so out of whack you might want to see a doctor. All you do is ***** about how other people think/feel/post. I call people out on their BS too, when it's about freakin' football. Then you go out of your way to try and prod people into feeling bad or just irked for whatever reason. I don't know why you do this. You take any opportunity you can find to do whatever will piss someone off.

You go out of your way to defend anything a Steeler fan has a problem with, be it James Harrison's BS suspension or the Patriots' cheating scandal. Really? You can't even understand why we hate Tom Brady? Jesus, he's hateable even without the cheating. But not only will you not attempt to see it from their side, and not only will you not just let them have it because it's their feelings they're talking about, and not only will you not attempt to strike a balanced, objective view of the subject, but you can't even play Devil's Advocate fairly. You don't just take a Pats' fan's point of view and say as much, you have to pretend like that's you being objective, and anyone who sees otherwise has got those B&G glasses you love to talk about so much. "You know, Scott, it was found out they were cheating during all those Super Bowl winning seasons." "Hey, the wins are still in the record book." That sounds like an argument not just from a Patriot fan, but from one that doesn't feel like he can win the argument. You seem to take great offense to being called a Patriot fan (or anything other than a hardcore Steeler fan, which I believe you are), and yet you go out of your way to pretend to be one. I know, just because you don't hate other blah blahs doesn't mean blah blah... So why do you spend so much energy hating on everyone here? I think the Patriots cheated, I have no idea how much it helped them, I do believe there should be asterisks in the books, I do believe the Steelers are treated differently than other teams by referees in ways that do not benefit us, I also hate Dallas and Baltimore... But I don't spend half as much time hating these things as you spend hating the people that hate them. And you pretend to be the mature one around here? I'll take beastly over you any day.

I was wrong to compare you to Data from Star Trek. Data might well find it puzzling that Tomlin_Era is already pondering the future of our OC, who has not even officially signed with the team yet. After all, the timing is curiously early! Wouldn't it be more prudent to first wonder about other conditions of Haley's employment, like if he's actually going to sign, what he'll do with the offense if he does, and what kind of successes/failures he might have? Or better yet, wait until the season gets under way before wondering about a possible firing? ...But Data wouldn't be a dick about it. He didn't understand humans, but he attempted to learn and didn't try and belittle them every chance he got. This is a mother****ing message board, so YES we are going to talk about things both prematurely and beyond relevance, YES we are going to complain about other players and teams, YES we are going to be biased toward our team lots of times, and YES to a bunch of other crap you probably don't like. You have always been there to tell people they are doing it wrong, and I have always assumed you an immature, empty person for it. It wasn't until today that I realized I can't even think of any substantial posts you've made that weren't made in this regard. We can't use a message board properly, and we need you to help us. TTF and the rest of the mods are not doing a good enough job, because they refuse to step in and tell Tomlin_Era your opinion. And when you criticize the existence of posts because you don't agree with the point of view, that is the most helpful thing of all. So I hope you get your Sherriff's badge real soon, to make it official.

So congratulations. You are a true Steeler fan, and not a Patriot fan. You just have a gift for seeing things as they really are, instead of through B&G glasses like us. Or maybe... could it be that you can understand why we hate Tom Brady and NE? Do you have a brain after all? Could you maybe even possibly actually have similar feelings yourself somewhere inside? That's the other option, in which case you're just an ***hole for playing dumb, mean, and smartass all at the same time. You know what I've decided? Either way, it doesn't matter. You're pathetic, and I should have done this months ago.

Contradict every sentence if you feel like it, or don't. I'm sure you never said any of the things I said you did. I bet I got it all wrong. I certainly didn't say everything I wanted to when I started this. But I won't be able to read your response, just as a heads up.

To TTF and the mods: I do apologize for this off-topic rant, and you can drop if it you like. I've never been the type to be the mature one and end something without a few words to make things clear. It's certainly not the only off-topic post around here. I can assure you it won't happen again, either in this thread or any other, as I will no longer be able to read Scott's posts, and he was the only one making this board a negative experience for me. Thanks for all you do.

Snack and others, I believe what we're seeing here with some of these perceived anti-Haley comments are former BA supporters that are trying to turn the tables to make us see "how it feels" to be impatient with an OC. Ok guys, you've had your fun at Haley's expense but it's time to put your weapons down and move on. The truth is, we gave BA 5 years as OC to show us his vision of a well designed offensive team. It never happened (21st in scoring) in spite of offensive play makers at nearly every skilled position. We now have a new OC, that hopefully we can rally around, and help us reach the offensive performance needed for more championship seasons in the years ahead. I could be wrong, but I believe even former BA supporters on this message board want only the best for Haley and our team going forward. Now, can we all embrace arms, form a big circle, and sing the first stanza of Kumbaya? :praying:

I'm offended! I sir was no BA supporter :lolol: I was always middle of the road with him and didn't care if he stayed one way or the other. As for this post, I already admitted as much to 12 to 88 that I am just having fun with this. I have no idea how Haley will perform as an OC but am hoping he can have the same kind of success he had with his SB run in Arizona. I'm not going to lie though, I think Haley is a dickhead and I don't like him. Maybe I am wrong though, because while the Rooneys might not always make the best football choices (see past out of house OC hirings) they do have an excellent judge of character, I can't imagine them bringing in someone the knew had poor character, surely the Rooneys have heard all the things that make me concerned about Haley. Plus Tomlin strikes me as a guy who can spot BS a mile a way, I don't see him putting up with that crap or bringing in someone who will be disruptive. Time will tell.

I kind of presumed this thread was light hearted, and at pretty much all of us fan's expense... the poll options gave it away...

I'm not so sure about that. Sometimes they hire personal friends or do favor for other friends. Remember Joe Walton? And there were a coupla other lousy selections.[/quote:3b29txc8]

Wasn't Joe Walton the guy who FUBAR'ed Bubby Brister? Took him from a scrambler and turned him into a drop 5 steps and hit the fetal position? :yahoo:

I think this may be comparable to one of the first conversations Haley has with Ben. Snack playing the role of Haley and Scott playing the role of Ben. :)

2-3 years, because if we suck he will be fired and if we do good, he will leave in a heartbeat to be a head coach to serve his ego.

I wonder if the players relate well to a coordinator who didn't even play high school football?

So you think if Haley has tremendous success as an OC with the Steelers he should turn down any promotional opportunities that come his way and if he doesn't, he's an egomaniac??

Maybe the truth is in the middle....I predict he has great success and he Loves it.....This feeds his ego and he stays with us for multiple seasons to win more championships.....Who knows maybe Coach T said to him 'Just give me 5 Great years and if we can win 3 Superbowls I might consider a early retirement'...

Just speculation of course ,but Tomlin strikes me as a guy who could become a Mayor or something down the road if he can reach enough Football goals....

I think the most likely result is not in the poll: He will be here for 2 years, and then get a chance to be a head coach again.

yeah, two years and with success he will be looking for a head coaching job. By then Kirby will be healed completely and he can take over.
