Are you one of the ones that believe it will all come together in the next year or two?

Are you one of the one that believe Tomlin will never do it again?

    Or are you in between?

I hate to be negative, but I picked 3 to 5. Ben coming back and being the Ben of old, or Ben coming back at all is a huge question mark for me. We have question marks on the O-line, RB, WR, TE, and QB behind Ben. The defense is set to be a top 10 unit at the very least for the next few years, even if we lose Bud and Hargrave. Is that enough to carry us? I think we hover around the 8-8 mark for the next couple of years.

I think it will be a while and I don't think we'll do it again with the current staff in charge. I put 3-5 but it could be longer depending on what I already said.

I'll even settle for just making the playoffs at this point let alone win one or back to back. Got to get that foot in the door first.

I take it this is not from now, as they don’t play the playoffs in the spring.

I picked over 9 years. I think a healthy Ben could get us a playoff spot in his final 2 years but there is no way they win 2 playoff games. After Ben the Steelers will go a long time just being a middle of the pack team.

Sorry Strummer, I think you're confusing this with the trending end of the world timeline. Please try and use original data. :lolol:

I don’t think this will happen again with Ben under center tbh. It all depends on who is QB after he is gone. No way of knowing that now.

I voted 1-2 years. All Ben needs is a top defense to bring home the Lombardi. Offense is young & decent enough behind a veteran line to put up points with our drama queen at the helm.

I'm pretty convinced that it's now or 9+. If Ben can over-ride our weaknesses at coaching we might do it in 2020 or 2021. If not, I believe it will NOT happen under Art II and Tomlin.

It's gonna be like the 80's and early 90's. Steelers might get lucky and win a single playoff game here and there, but it's gonna be somewhere in the 6-8 year range for back to back wins, IMO. By the time that happens, we'll have a different head coach. 2026-2028 is my guess.

Looking at the AFC competition I can see this.
    - Hairball needs a leader on defense
-KC kinda scars me, two great runs now
-Bills not there yet, tougher schedule next year
-Titans barely made it to the playoffs
    - Texans could make some noise next year
    - Browns? :roflmao:

    - Bungholios, Mike Brown still pulling the strings
    - Jets? Gase has never done anything significant
    - Cheats? Need to be banned

If they don't win back to back playoff games this year, it could be a while.

If they don't do it 2020, it will be harder in 2021 when Ben is a yr older or done.

You never know, by that time they will be on the 2nd or 3rd new CBA...owners might want a spring season past the 20 game season they crammed into the previous CBA.

I think our division will be getting stronger while the Steelers are regressing at key positions. 3-5 years is what I'm thinking unfortunately.

I think 3-5 years is optimistic:
    1. Tomlin is not going anywhere in the 3-5 year time frame.
    2. Tomlin gets outcoached in playoff games so even if we make the playoffs, the odds of winning two games is slim.
    3. The fact that they kept Futchner shows that he is here to stay.
    4. Even if they fire Futchner this year, the offense will have to start over.
So, to make this happen in the 3-5 year time frame, Tomlin, Art II, and Futchner would all have to change their stripes.

I don't fear our division as much as I fear our coaching/ownership.

The Browns are the Browns, the Bengals are the Bengals, and LJ will definitely NOT be in the running for MVP next year.

No doubt in my mind the Steelers will make the Playoffs a few times the next 5 years but as far as winning a SB I doubt very much that won't happen for many years to come. The AFC is going to have some strong QB's and they are not on the Steelers. I'm telling ya the Steelers need to tank the season the kid from Clemson is ready for the draft.

Now you want a sure bet, the Pirates won't make the Playoffs forever:(

I'm rooting big time for you to be right but I'm going with a different mind set. The Bengals are about to get a future superstar at QB. Sorry but I have Mayfield bouncing back big time and Jackson will keep the Ravens ahead of us. Now let's re-visit this discussion come december.
