Of how I remember those terrible wooden benches we had to sit on. I was young so I could take it.

My dad had season tickets and tailgated before every Charger game. Truly hard core, die hard fan. Until, even he gave up on them!

People in St. Louis hated Bill Bidwell for moving the team.

I was a fan of both the Steelers and the Vikings when I first started watching football in the seventies. When Pittsburgh beat the Vikes, I became a Steeler fan and never looked back. Also, my last name is Lambert so there is that.

Since 1972. Didn't have a team in South Carolina. Was a Packers fan prior to that.

Since about 1975. Being in Western PA in the 70's was quite an experience. I don't get nearly as upset as I used to because the game has changed so much and the officiating seems to be crooked at times. Also, the players today drive me nuts with their mid game celebrations.

While watching Super Bowl XII between Dallas and Denver, my dad told me that Terry Bradshaw was not only from our town but our neighborhood. Living about three hours from Dallas, it was easy to pull against the Cowboys because their fans were the most annoying bandwagon fans. I've loved the Steelers ever since. Glad I've found this forum.

In Kindergarten my grandma bought me a Dolphins jacket for some reason. No one in the family pulled for them and she didnt watch football. Then I got a cowturds jacket the following year from her and the cowturds went to the SB against the Steelers. I was like but I dont like the cowturds, I want the Steelers to win....and that was when I started bleeding black and gold. 42 yrs ago.

I started coming on scene with the Steeler is around '93 attributed to Techmo Bowl to be honest. In '95 superbowl is when I got hooked. I loved how badass the defense was especially.

Miss the old days of badass defensive play.

Then Bettis came along running over linebackers and safeties. Hines Ward with hands of glue being led into a safety getting crushed coming up smiling with the football in hand.

1975-76 approx.. starting out as a young teenage bandwagon fan. Loved the Steelers because they could win games and superbowls. Never looked back nor reconsidered my decision now an addition lol

I've been a fan since the late 70s, not sure which year exactly. I was about 7 or 8 when I started watching football, and some good friends of mine, who got me hooked on it, were Steelers fans.

Too long since birth jan 11, 42, and now this team is starting to bore me, if they were interested in winning as much as the fans are they would be worth worrying over, but now my expectations for them is in the pits with all the prima donna coaches and players they have now, next year will just be a replay of this year............

2008. I came in way late on the scene; too late for the "Last Ride With 36." I was introduced via a highlight video of the man in my avatar. Instantly became a fan then.

To bad you didnt get to enjoy the 70s defense loaded with stars even better than troy at their positions....

    Fan since about 1970-71.

I’m just as fervent, but I’m not as disappointed/down, and for less time, than I used to be after a loss. Part of it’s the way the game and players are today. Part of it is just being older and having some perspective.

Grew up in Green Bay but have always been a non-conformist, so Steelers ended up my team for life after flirting with a couple others.

Used to smash stuff after high profile losses, but now it’s just more disappointment than anything.
