The problem is they don’t complement each other. I brought this up in a post a couple weeks ago. With the loss of talent on O the only way for this team to be successful is to complement each other. We’re not strong on O or D so both units need to help each other out. Gone are the days we can win games by out scoring opponents when our defense plays poorly and vice versa. The problem I see with this is that our coordinators are playing Connect 4 while the rest of the league is playing Chess. Our DC and OC simply wouldn’t be employed in those roles for any other team in this league.
If that don’t tell us all we need to know, nothing will.

How can the players know what they are doing when the coaches don't?

the coach brought this on himself. We have other players that could play. This is a defensive problem not an offensive problem and it's been around for several years. Sure the offense can help this but we have a qb that has started exactly one game. He had three days to get ready to go into a hostile environment and he's supposed to play at a HOF level? Ben in all his years plays had on the left coast. Give the kid and the offense a chance to get some time under their belt before we blame this on the kid. The vet o-line is more at fault then the kid is. They didn't do their job. The defense had to do theirs to and get off the field and substitute when it's needed.

Fichtner isn't that incompetent, the Steelers were #1 in redzone offense in 2018. He needs to adjust better without the killer B's on offense, he can't wait until the second half to let Mason throw down the field, like he did in the 49ers game .

I realize we need a larger sample size than 3 games, but I'm starting to get worried about Fichtner.

Some people like to talk about Tomlin winning with Cowher's players. (The same players who went 8-8 before Tomlin joined... never mind.) I'm wondering if last year's redzone performance was a carry-over from what Haley set up, and that this year is what happens when Fichtner has things the way he wants it.

So cold he needs a hot seat to keep his nuts from freezing. He will NEVER be fired by Rooney.

Just another Tomlin apologist ignore him. You knows who defends is expected to hold opponents from scoring? Winning teams
