We all talk about Heyward, Tooey, watt, haden, Harrison, etc... but I have been watching Hargrave in his limited snaps.

WTF?!?!?!? WHY ISN'T COACHING STAFF PUTTING HIM IN THERE MORE?

holy hell that dude is a monster. Almost every play he drives back the center. Crazy motor. He looks, dare I say it, Aaron Donald good. There is some bias in there, but seriously can someone do a write up on pressures vs snaps on him?

Again dare I say we have the best 3-4 D line? Tuitt, Heyward and grave?

I've seen other articles calling this out as well. I've noticed some of the same, though admittedly I've probably missed some plays when he's been in there.

Agree, he is like a bonus player in my mind. Should he need to be playing more snaps due to injuries it is like a plus for us.

I also would like to see that old guy Harrison get in there more.

He's good.. but let's not crown him "Casey Hampton" good yet.

One of my favorite memories as a Steelers fan was watching Big Snack return a Carson Palmer INT.

I'd be interested to see how much is him over powering the opposing center and how much is them taking advantage of his power and aggression letting him get out of his gap and sealing him outside. This has happened to a lot of the guys this year. They want to get upfield and make the tackle but inadvertently open a gap for the running back. As good as Watt has played I saw it a couple of times where they strung the play out towards the sideline have the RB pened in and TJ breaks from his spot goes after the tackle misses and the back squirts through for a 6 yard gain when they had him for no gain. Shazier and VW do it to jumping into the first gap they see get blocked out and the cut back lanes is wide open.

He is good currently but would love to see more of him as the season goes along.

I will say this, easily a top five nose tackle in the game under 25. Period.

If he’s not getting snaps, there is a good reason for it. I just don’t know what it is. I’m guessing he is not the best option when we are pushing pass defense.

yeah coaches see something, it's not like he is the best option and they are holding him back. Haley doesn't control the defense

Coach Mitchell said his hands are as good as anyone he has seen at that age.. pretty high praise coming from him.

He is much more athletic then Casey.. Casey was a big man that was a force in stopping the run. Hargrave has a motor and is surpisingly agile for a man of his size

He is not in Aaron Donalds league, but I feel he should be seeing the field more.

Definitely not in aaron donald range, and not yet at big snack level......
That said, he is clearly very good and quickly improving..
And yes. ...... we do have the best 3-4 d-line in the league, including back-ups

what is weird is that in casual 3-4 setups it is usually the OLB that do the pass rushing but we don't have the guys for that, like we did with Harrison, porter, Woodley, etc. The D line clog and the linebackers rush. 4-3 usually the D line rushes the QB and the linebackers cover. It seems we are all over the place. D line rushes, linebackers cover, corners blitz, linebackers blitz lol

Prime JJ Watt is one of the absolute best players that I’ve ever seen. Dude is incredible when he’s not injured.

Life is so unfair at times. JJ is probably just as good a person as he is dominant on the field. The fact that he's sustained so many injuries is incredibly cruel fate.

Is he not a defensive end though due to Wade Phillips?

    Prime JJ Watt.

To me, when I see him play, I cannot help but think of Troy. Their instincts and tenacity for the game with their humility and graciousness are the ultimate dichotomy that few NFL player's ever reach, nevermind achieve.

I may be a Steelers fan but J.J. Watt is my current favorite player in the league, injured or otherwise. His mere presence changes everything.
