With possibly 3 teams moving this year (1 already) I was just wondering how teams that move plan on getting a fan base. I live in Wisconsin (Lets pretend the Packers don't exist) and if a team moved into Madison or Milwaukee I wouldn't stop being a Steelers fan because the new team was local. I imagine most NFL fans are the same way, so how do owners of teams that move hope to get a new fan base?

Hell, the Jags still haven't managed to establish one!

In the case of 2 of the 3 teams that might move, the fan base is already there for the Rams and Raiders.
The Chargers don't have much of a fan base anywhere.

The thing I think is lame about when teams move is when they talk about having "new traditions" but they will have them right off the bat. I think the truly great traditions in sports are way more organic than just showing up at a stadium one day and having people tell you what the tradition for that stadium is gonna be.

Well, I was in Jacksonville when they first got their team and I have to tell you it was grating having all these "traditions" going on right off the bat!

Idon't know how they plan on bringing 2 teams to the market that the Raiders have pretty much had to themselves as the only game in town and expect to take shares and maintain a good market. I'm sure they did their market research, but the area already lost the Rams once and now you want to shoehorn 2 teams into the same market and stadium?

On another note: When did all this "And that's a (insert team name here) FIRST DOWN!" or "IN-COM-PLETE!" crap come from? Every stadium is doing it now with the scoreboard prompting. I find it stupid to say the least!

Yeah the Titans do really stupid crap like that. Their fans also always say "1-2-3-FIRST DOWN!" when they get a first. It's really annoying but giving how bad they suck you really don't get to hear it all that much. LOL!

You do know that the Rams were in SO CAL for a long time before ST Louis, and that
LA has a population base of about 20 mill? So even if 20% of the fans like either team
the population base is there to fill a 75,000 seat stadium 16 times a year.
