I thought it was always reported that way, that other family members saw it, but not Tuitt.

i've always seen other board members saying he saw his brother killed, like thorn was saying here. this report was the first i saw where it said he wasn't present. i could be wrong but i have always thought that was how the story went. either way it's tragic.

He apparently has been in the Steelers facility over the last month. No other details given. Apparently none of our business, as it should be. But he wouldn’t be there if he was sure he wasn’t coming back. He also wouldn’t be there with out communication with the people there.

Yep none of our business of what kind of team they field,,... Just as long as he gets paid and is in a safe space is all that matters ...

Mac I might have screwed up what I was trying to say and convey in my post. I wasn't trying to say Tuitt was with the family when the hit and run happened but his mother and other family members were. The confusion might be because I was trying to get some of the board members to put themselves in the position Tuitt's mother was in, seeing your child, your spouse, a family member in that situation.

i gotcha my friend. it's probably my fault for not reading into it more. i was always under the assumption he was there as well and that news surprised me. still a tragic accident and especially for a mother to see. i can't fathom that thought.

Even if Tuitt decides he wants to try and play he will be injured as the norm for him especially with this layoff very quickly. Our DLine is in rough shape considering no way Cam duplicates last year at his age/miles.

I’d imagine that the team is somewhat restricted on what they can report concerning his personal health or issues.

Tuitt has 4 seasons with 14+ starts. Available for 16 games his rookie season. 12 starts in 2017.
That leaves last season (out completely), and 2019 where he had 6 starts.

I am concerned about him playing healthy (compared to someone like Edmunds), but it is a stretch to say that he is normally injured.

Since his 2nd contract started he's averaged about 8 games a season. If he's willing to take a 50% paycut to make up for it I'd be all in....then draft JD @ #20.

Tuitt had his best season in 2020, and he played in 15 games, Heyward might get a reduced workload next season if Tuitt and Alalu return. They can sub in Loudermilk and Wormley at DE.

Are you including last season in that average? That skews things a bit too much.

Cam had low "mileage" his first two seasons.

He had 10 sacks last year, at age 32.
Bruce Smith and Reggie White had 10-sack seasons at age 37.

Not saying Cam is the same as those two HoFers, but "no way" is too strong a statement.

I feel for anyone who has experienced a personal loss. We've probably all been there.I know I have had my share. But the norm is usually three days company paid bereavement plus any vacation time, if you have any, you might want to use.
Something else is going on here.
