Just wanted to give a shout out to our much maligned(and rightfully so) offensive line.
Ben had all day to throw pretty much all day, even on the deeper throws, and they opened some good holes for the runninbacks.
Sure, Haley deserves some credit for getting Ben to focus on quicker releases, shorter passes, hitting his safety valves, etc....
    BUT...
I thought the line played OUTSTANDING today! Way to go!!!
Also, I don`t think they had a single penalty against them, no holding, or false starts!
    Again... OUTSTANDING!!! :rawk: :applaud: :yeehaw:

Yup...kudos do Colon for continuing his solid play (and burying another player in the ground again) and for the rookie Adams playing well also.

I hope they allow Adams to remain the starter and Gilbert to remain the bench warmer. It appears to be working

they are playing with a chip on their shoulder and they are taking it out against the opposition.

the real test will be against the Giants line next week.

You are absolutely right about that one! Probably the biggest challenge they face this year. Denver was tough, but the G-men will be a different animal. We need them to come up huge in the running game to keep the hounds off of Ben.

they played an outstanding game. I've been very critical of this group. Looks like Adams has found his spot on the oline. Gilbert will be the swing tackle when he is healthy. Can't wait to see what DeCastro brings to the table. I would still keep Max Starks even when DeCastro comes back, Gilbert and Adams continue to play well.

O-Line play of the day for me was Maurkice leading the way for Rainey on the direct snap. THAT was what you call setting the edge! I was like "DUDE ARE YOU EVER GONNA CUT AND GIVE HIM SOME ROOM!?" LOL.

Lets see how they fare this week, against people that can get
after the QB. Get rid of it quick Ben.

they are altering things they do to help this o-line. adams is looking pretty good. foster is looking pretty good. without bens pocket presence, there would be more sacks from max's side. i know of at least two the guy missed grabbing ben from his side because ben stepped up at just the right moment.

against the giants 4-3 they are going to have their hands full. angles and stunts are not this lines friend right now. heath and will j. are helping alot in the run and pass game on the edges, especially the left side. the backs are helping in pass protection too. it's not that max is a rock over there. he and colon will be put through there paces next week. they are not bad if they can man up on one guy and thats all. if they have to switch off or protect a gap or late blitz, not so much.

at least they are playing with an attitude and that's good. the penalties are down and that's good. i know most only watch when it's a good play or know when ben doesn't get sacked that max and willie are all-stars, but watch them the rest of the time too and you will still see struggles and missed assignments, alot. i am immpressed that it looks like max is keeping his weight down still 8 weeks in. we are getting some W's though, so everyone is satisfied. we shall see. the games are not going to get easier this year.

Excellent job today!! Dwyer had holes to run through and Ben had zero sacks. Can't ask for more than that really.

i wonder if decastro can play tackle , i know is probably a strange idea but foster is playng great at right guard , so i just try to move decastro somewhere , he is atlethic enough ?

They have been playing better each game. I definitely give them there props. Yes, it will be a big test against the Giants. I can't wait until Decastro is healthy and gets some playing time.

Mac, I hear ya, and I know you know what you`re talking about.
I don`t tend to focus on the line, during the game, unless they screw up.
And, I don`t usually go back and critique a game that I have DVR`d.
My point, was simply, that I actually NOTICED Ben having a good pocket around him, even if he had to "step up", or "sidestep" a guy, ONCE IN A WHILE!!!
Hell, he has made a living off of doing that. It just seemed that last Sunday, he barely had to do that at all, and they ALSO opened some large holes for Dwyer, (if not Rainey, or Batch), to run thru!!!
On top of that, there was a NOTICEABLE lack of false start/holding, type penalties.

Yes, I know they are gonna have a much tougher test against the "Giants", but... that was certainly a step in the right direction.
Have no problem with Starks, either... But that`s probably just because I don`t pay enough attention to what he does, play in, and play out...
I`m usually hopin we get the first down, etc, and watching where the ball goes... ;) :yeehaw:
Edit... By the way, I forgot to mention, in either of these posts, how much I believe that a big part of the change in our O-line play, comes from the play calling of Haley.
You mentioned that, and I agree COMPLETELY...
He sees what he has to work with, and does things to cover up the weaknesses of our line...
    BOUT TIME!! :herewego:

When the season started we were all hype on how good our O-Line was going to be when they added Decastro :herewego:

Depending on how they play against the giant's we have alot of reason to be super hyped about this team when he comes back. Offensively at least.

If we can pull it off this sunday, we'll be red hot.
