This why I want us to go so much into being offens heavy. And Defense line heavy.

So many rules now a days that hurt LB, DB, S

Oh horse ****, it’s a dangerous game stop trying to regulate injuries out of it.

The target zone is already impossible small and the game is too fast to be thinking about all that crap.

Everything we were taught is taken away. I don't know how You don't see that. Everytime they take away a form of tackling the D tries a different way, and the league takes it away. Tell me again....was it a D player, or a Offensive player that I seen getting resuscitated out on the field , and how was He hit, and why wasn't there changes to the offense rules???? You know why, I know why, and anyone with any thinking mind knows why.

Maybe.....right now that seems absurd, but if You asked people 70 years ago would the NFL be more popular than baseball.....most would have said no way. So...

The Rule is pretty specific, you have to wrap, swivel, and land on the runners legs below the knee. All 3 have to be true for it to be a penalty. Not 1 of 3 or 2 of 3.

I thought the Myles Garrett technique was disappearing for the last half of the season?

Pretty soon they will need to grab them then wait for express written permission from the ref to bring them to the ground. I'd prefer they just add another 5 pages to the roughing the passer rule like they do most years.

I didn't think you were allowed to go for the ankles or knees of a QB?

I think it all started with the ergonomic chairs and desks and stuff for all the desk jockeys out there. Too many were getting sore backs and Carpel Tunnel issues and some even got neck strain.

Once we started the wussifying of the work place it was just a matter of time before it reached pro sports.

More and more of the American workforce are showing up in Hoka shoes and invisible braces nowadays. Where does the madness end?

It started long before that. Remember the good old days when workers didn't even get paid? Or when the serfs had to pay a portion of their income to the king for the privelidge of working? Ah, back when men were men.....

On a serious note... what did Jack Lambert say?!

    "Just put dresses on 'em."

Basically is where the NFL is headed. No. Fun. League.

Nothing more to it than that.

soon there will be no tackling just trying to pick off passes --very carefully Runs might start being limited. Just go FLAG like the pro-bowl then I'm done with it.

While I don't see hip drop tackles as a rampant problem, you might see one a game, it's how the rule is interpreted that will cause the issues. I'm sure each set of officials will call the rule differently.
To play devil's advocate, are we overreacting a little? Do you think this will really affect the game that much or is this the culmination of all the rule changes over the years to lessen the violence of the sport?

Like we need to see more. And what's worse is that the zebras have selective vision.

Hopefully i'm dead before that happens. Show of hands who watched the joke bowl.

someone said it earlier in the thread but....

you ALL will be pissed when Najee (or another one of OUR players) has his ankle broken because someone hip drop tackles him.

it is a new phenomena of the game, was not a common method of tackling 10 years ago, players have been 'learning' this b/c is it easy, sloppy, lazy
