Re: Steelers announce press conference w/ Hines

I didn't think Hines would have too many takers at this point. He will get into broadcasting in some form, he has the charm. Love to seem him get into the radio booth with Hillgrove, Tunch, and Wolf. But, I think Hines is made for TV.

I've looked around and everything just says later today.

Agreed. Hines seemed very comfortable during the Superbowl when he and Aaron Rodgers were splitting time in the booth.

If he becomes a commentator do you think he will champion the Steelers? Would be nice to hear someone broadcasting with a little Steeler bias for once.

I would be fine with him "taking up a roster spot" if it meant that the whole team would be rallying around Hines and doing everything they could to send out on top with a Super Bowl victory the way they did Bettis. Would be a great motivator for the team. But thats just my .2 worth. everyone has an opinion its like a, well you know. either way ill be happy for him!

I hate this argument because it is a BS one. SO you mean to tell me you feel the 53rd person on the roster who barely suits up and doesn't see the field except on maybe kickoffs and punt returns has more value than the guy who has proved time and time again that he can make the clutch play, has shown real leadership, who gives his all on every play? Sorry but the waste of a roster spot is a lame argument.

I like the idea. But, Bettis had never been to a SuperBowl, when the team rallied around him. You cant say that for Hines(SB MVP)

We know brown isnt playing special teams this year sanders is going to be thescheme return man so the 4th wr is going to have to play specials and hines wont do that and cant do that. So yes it would hurt this team.

not a coach not yet anyhow. If they were to go this route i would want him as an advisor it doesnt count as coach but he can still do everything a coach does.

Agreed. The idea that players can just step up as coaches straight away without any training or learning the ropes is a bit silly.

It's official. He's retiring a Steeler for life.

Really went out of his way to thank the fans several times. Class Act. I love Hines.
