Hines Ward is now an Iron Man

    Not sure if this was posted and I missed it but Hines Ward is now an Iron Man. He even did in KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii which is the Mecca of these races. It is known for the heat and wind. He finished in 13hrs, 8min, 15sec which is a GREAT time for a first timer on that course. :yeehaw: The part I liked the most was the number on his race bib. Go Hines

    Over 2000 entered only 1963 finished. Hines was 1680th

    I got tired just reading 2.4-mile ocean swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a full 26.2-mile marathon.

    Congrats Ironman Ward!

    I can't imagine all-out exertion for 13+ hours!

    A good friend of mine has done dozens of Ironman events and just did one in Lake Tahoe a few weeks ago. He said it was 25 degrees with a water temp of 58 degrees. 20% of the field didn't even finish.

    My my buddy took first in his class and qualified for Khona again. The guy is a beast.
