Steelers Digest reporting at 9:21am EST:
The team has downgraded Hines Ward and James Farrior from questionable to out for the game vs. New England.

Both are a loss no matter what we think. Farrior as the QB of the defense and HInes as the guy not afraid to take a hit to make a key third down.

So since we moved Timmons to the outside, we have Foote and who else in the middle?

I would say that they will miss Hines the most even though Farrior calls the defense but, let the young guys play. Farrior is 36 years old and can't keep up. Let's see what Sylvester can do. Hines is the man but Manny Sanders along with Cotchery are suitable replacements at this point.

This could be a wakeup call for the Steelers to finally start playing the young guys. I know for a fact that Farrior will not be back next year so why not see what Sylvester can do now. My feeling is that they will do better with Sylvester. And I also feel that Sanders will make some plays.

It is really too bad Worlids can't go. I would like to see Sylvester and Timmons in the middle together -- plenty of speed there, I think Brady will target vs. Foote.

This is the only way players get a chance to show their stuff. I hate to see guys go down but it's our only chance to young the younger legs get in there.

I'm nervous about what the D will be like without Farrior...

Since brady owns this D, losing farrior could be a good thing since he doesn't know how to slow him down. I say let Troy run the show, I would have all 12 players jumping over the o-line. ( the Troy snap count guessing special) :swordsman:
