    love it.

some here had said 'let him walk' , I said DON'T DO IT.(meaning, don't let him walk!!)

Good job Steelers. He is a Steeler - his heart and mind. He is good. maybe he becomes great.

Now, I just hope he does not pull a Woodley on us

which I doubt he will because of his solid brains

14.5 sacks 6 FF’s, I’ll take that kind of good all day.

I believe in keeping your quality home-grown players.

He has balled out since getting on the field. He gets better every year, and is playing a premium position. I also think this sets them up well if a horrible injury takes TJ off the field. You can't rely so much on one player for your pass rush. This insures that they have multiple people that can rush the quarterback from the edge, and hopefully he continues to improve and can actually handle double teams and chips a little better in TJ's absence. I also like that this insures that they are staying young at the position rather than looking for a 31 year old free agent to plug a hole in the defense for a year or two. I like the stability of it.

I think the numbers are reasonable, and this contract is going to look very good in a couple years.

Great Job Steelers. The Khan man never stop working! Let's Go! Both he and TJ will bring back the feared combo of K.Greene and G. Lloyd!

The best thing is he is signed before the training camp,so no hold out or hold in this year!

it is critical to the scheme they play. they must get to the QB and give him no more than 2.5 secs in the pocket. if not, our secondary will get toasted this year

the Greene / Lloyd years were the BEST!!!!

Good signing! Alex is a great player, and he seems to be very grounded as a person.

    He earned it!

I think in this case, his cap hit will be higher since before this extension, his cap hit was so low(because he had a 3rd round rookie contract)

correct - for that 3 year period, 2007 - 2010 / 11(?) - they were BEASTS together. having the animal Timmons in the middle did not hurt that duo, either. then Woodley got fat dumb and happy (Dates edited)

I started my Where's Waldo Woodley thread each week.....

This is more about the 2008 to 2010 period.Harrison was one of the best pass rusher at this time and Woodley was great in big game.In his first 4 years(2007 to 2010),he had like 11 sacks in 7 playoffs game and he had at least 1 sack in every playoff game!

When they drafted Highsmith I was kind of disappointed. I thought for sure he was going to be a bust. Boy was I wrong. I am glad for the guy. Came from a smaller college and he made it work for himself. I hope he keeps up this level of pay for the next few years. Congratulations young man

Awesome. I don't care what someone with his caliber gets paid. He performed without Watt on the line. And that speaks volumes.

I do want to know what our cap is. Because i wonder if that freed any room to sign other positions.

Watt and him stay healthy our D will be formidable. With a strong D the Steelers should be able to score more points then the bad guys most the time.

I'd love to see Watt and Highsmith in an AFCCG. In the AFC they'd be going against one of the many great QB's AFC has. Their intensity level would be through the roof. :beg:Please happen!!!!!!!!!!!

My only complaint is I wish we would have kept sutton. Everything else could have happened, even draft. Because spoon, maulet being released would have made sutton an easy signing for what he would want

Peterson, sutton, porter would have been a great look.
