The only thing I can think of is that it really wasn't much of an injury. They just gave him the day of rest as a precaution.

This is unfortunate, Highsmith is a quality player and much needed player
for the Steelers. His arrow is pointing way up. I like him alot. He gets after it and unlike Bud
    can finish.

I hope Jamir Jones becomes a legit star, but unlike you I don't believe you can simply wish unheralded late round picks and UDFAs into "stepping up" as starters. I realize these types of players are on every roster as backups and special teamers, but once you start inserting them in your starting lineup because stars leave or get hurt, you have problems. This is especially true of the Steelers, who aren't the best game-planners on D, and seem to expect the Next Man Up to perform the duties of the starter at the same high level, which is of course folly. Go watch drives when both TJ and Dupree got the same series off last year. Like a knife through soft butter.

This defense finally returned to form in 2019 with the addition of two more 1st round picks - Bush and Minkah - to give the Steelers an insane 10 or 11 first round picks on D. Thank God we got Watt signed long term, those two are probably next in line. We'll have to replace Haden, Heyward, Alualu and maybe Tuitt soon, and it won't be with undrafted camp heroes.

It had better not be, anyway.

and if you read what i wrote before you will see that is what i said. up and comers but not on the level of watt. ingram re-signed and draft picks "IF" they traded him for first round picks. jones i believe will be good depth. you can't base every other udfa on ola or anyone else before them. you keep doing that. we have had many that became starters over the last few years. we made trades and brought in two of the guys you say need replaced. ( haden and alualu). carl davis and buggs are both draft picks that have gotten better each year so far and can possibly give us what an aging alualu can. i expect we will see them getting plenty of work this season. if and i said if we traded watt for two 1st round picks we would have still had our own first as well. with 3 a team can fill a lot of those holes they need filling. that's what i said and you keep trying to turn it into a team full of backups. that's not what i said.

If the Steelers were rebuilding they wouldn't have traded for Schobert, paid Turner, Ingram 4 million each .

OK then. If the Steelers are not rebuilding, then I will have to see Aaron Rodgers as Steelers QB in 2022. I'm serious.

You were making a lot of sense until that last sentence. If anything, based on what we've seen so far, that is Dupree's biggest advantage over Highsmith, that he can actually finish the play when he gets pressure on the quarterback. Highsmith isn't as explosive as Dupree when closing on the quarterback.

Let's see how Roethlisberger does this season. I'm not optimistic. He doesn't take care of himself like Brady and he's not a student of the game.... relying on athletic ability to get by. Ben needs to let Najee Harris lead the way. Like Elway did with TD.

That would be funny. Rodgers would have to get permission and blessing from Bradshaw to wear #12.

    I think it's clear.
It's funny how some feel this Qb , or that You just stick them here , and they win a SB.

OK. One game I will give you. The rest were poop since XLV. I'd give my left nut for another January 2006 AFC Championship game vs Broncos performance.

He never finished his first three years in the league, if my memory serves me he would
run right past the QB, or get taken out of play by OT. Highsmith barring injury is a superstar
    in the making.
