The commentator says there's "room for optimism" then showcases how bad Kenny sucks bocce balls through garden hoses. What a thing of genius and brilliance.

Question is are these flaws fixable in the shorter term or does this take much longer to correct? O-Line blocking definitely has to improve to get the running game going and consistently creating good pockets. KP has to have confidence they are doing their job and not getting happy feet!!

I am one of those that don't believe it's black and white.
Can Tomlin and Canada fix these issues? I don't believe so.
Now, assume Shanahan drafts Pickett and pairs him with a strong running game and screen game, does Pickett thrive like Purdy is? I'm going to say the answer is yes.

We have absolutely zero creativity on offence. Our idiot coaches don't know how to get the best out of our players. I believe Pickett's career is already over. He'll be a bust. The Steelers will continue to be an average team at best, until Tomlin is fired.

Pickett had happy feet in college. He was known for it. The coaches allowing him to get run over all the time is making it worse. They need to find a way to establish the run game. They also need to slow down the pass rush. Roll Pickett out more often. Use more screens. The coaches need to teach Pickett to stay in the damn pocket. He's abandoning the pocket after 2 seconds, even when it's clean. he needs to move around in the pocket to find lanes, not take off.

The offence is a complete disaster and I don't believe we have the coaches to fix it.

Don't worry. You only missed another KP hit piece. His idea of a clean pocket is the interior of the line collapsing on the QB. The problem with this O is all around. On almost every play there are linemen missing assignments. The QB and the receivers are not on the same page. The play calling is bad. Najee is dancing at the line of scrimmage and Freirmuth is whiffing blocks. It's a dumpster fire out there. Small wonder your young, inexperienced QB looks shaky. He's got no help out there.

Yeah it takes him 5 minutes to get to a play. And a ton of ummmm, opinion, ummm, pause, opinion, opinion etc.

Literally first pay was a collapse pocket, yet he says it's a clean pocket.

I'm not sure if throwing on the run/rolling him out is his strong suit...certainly wasn't last game.

You’re giving Matt Canada way too much credit. The receivers we have are some of the best athletes in the world so they should be able to break open on occasion. Has less to do with Matt Canada and more to do with individual effort. Kenny is sucking it up right now, but so is every other “talented” player we have on offense from the skill guys to the grunts. What do they all have in common? Oh yeah, this guy…

did you watch the video? it sure shows open receivers and a qb not looking at any of them. when it keeps happening it's not the play called it's the guy that's supposed to distribute the ball to them. every team in the nfl has good athletes. it's not just ours being so much better than theirs. good thought but far from the truth of what is happening. now i'm not saying his play calling is always great but there is way more problems than that. why can warren run behind the same line? why are people saying our receivers are not open when clearly you can see they are. it's not the play calling, it's not the play but maybe you are on to something about the individual players.

Re-read what I wrote. Kenny has basically sucked but it's absolutely astonishing to me that there are still members of this board and others who somehow seem to want to give Canada a pass.

Kenny is playing well below the line, I acknowledge that. I think we've got an OC who is contributing greatly to his decline or at least to his lack of progress. Okay...I've acknowledged that Kenny is not playing well and he is missing open receivers, but will you acknowledge that Matt Canada SUCKS???!!!

Why are they the keystone cops?
Why is Kenny playing below the line and regressing?
Why has Muth disappeared from the offense?
Why is Najee not playing like a no. 1 draft pick?
Why is Pickens not targeted more often?
Why are we not utlizing the biggest TE in the league effectively?
Why is the offensive line struggling big time when we seemingly took major steps in the off-season to improve it?
Why has Calvin Austin been converted from a speed demon to a possession receiver (based on his YPC)?
Why do we tip off the defense by passing 80% of the time we're in shotgun and running 90% of the time the QB is behind center?

I get that the players aren't playing well, but the fact is we have some talented players on that offense and NONE of them are playing well. I know that it starts with the quarterback, but the whole dang offense is out of sync because of an offensive coordinator whose offense has never had a 400 yard game while EVERY other team has had at least three and nine teams have had ten or more, and whose offense has failed to score 20 or more points in nearly 75% of the games that he has called.

An offensive coordinator's job is to (ready for this?) coordinate the offense! Our offensive coordinator has been downright offensive and I don't get how any knowledgeable fan doesn't see that?

Moving the pocket will slow the pass rush and buy him more time. He's an NFL QB, he needs to be able to make throws while moving. They don't have to be 40 yard darts, but the coaches need to give him more time, and that's one of several ways to do it.

Besides, his throws on the move aren't the problem. His mechanics are. Watching that video along with others I've seen, he's seeing pressure before it even gets there, then he's rushing his throws. His feet aren't set. His body isn't always square. His mechanics are terrible. All his throws are inaccurate right now, not just the ones when he's on the move.

I imagine he's lost some of his confidence. The coaches need to let him complete some passes to gain it back. To do that, he needs both time and proper routes. Guys are getting open, but he's not seeing them because he's so spooked by the pressure. So if the coaches can get creative to buy him more time, then he'll likely go through his progressions better, hopefully make more accurate throws, build confidence and go from there. Right now the coaches aren't doing him any favours.

Kenny needs to start seeing the field better and hitting open receivers but this right here, yeesh.

This is awful coaching. Awful. This is not putting your players in the best position to succeed.

    Hello sample size!

here’s the problem with this guys analysis and use of statistics. While they’re accurate they don’t paint the whole picture. It completely ignores the fact we fell behind early against the 49ers and all but abandoned the run against the 49ers. It also ignores our inability to run against the browns. In addition to that it ignores BK’s well documented issues through 2 games

Strummer, stop. You really think it would be much different if coursed over all of last season? You really think this will change over the course of this season with Canada in charge?

It’s ok to call out bad coaching. Aldo the first thing I said is Kenny needs to do his part but Canada isn’t doing the offense any favors with this horse****.
