We should be running away with the division at this point.

    come on
it's not like we have loss a game to a team under .500 this year
    it's the nfl
    it's the parity
it's the nature of the beast
    it's the injuries
    it's not the players
    it's not the coaches
it's mostly that most fans have no concept of the game of football

Far and away the most talent on offense. A once in a generation quarterback. Arguably the best RB and WR in the NFL. A solid OL with multiple first and second round draft picks. Eight 1st or 2nd round draft picks starting on defense, some young but many of whom should be coming into their own. Some don't like to admit it, but our head coach and coaching staff has failed to have the team ready to go or "buttoned up" to quote a much maligned phrase in the early part of the season and therefore we're in second place in a weak division and have to scratch and claw like mad to get into the playoffs as a division winner because of those early season failures. I'm glad we've won the last two games against the worst team in the league and an anonymous quarterback, but I'm still peeved that we're not having conversations about number one seed possibilities instead of squeaking into the playoffs, muddled in mediocrity and relying on other teams to do our bidding once again.

We may still make the playoffs and we do have our destiny in our own hands. Maybe that's what concerns me.

Injuries are reason #1, but even you have got to acknowledge that's not the whole story.

Of course, the Eagles game for example but do I believe we'd be 6-5 without the injuries? Hell no.

The Eagles game was just a flat performance. The one that bugs me is the Ravens game. I don't know if you watched it, but a guy on Steelers Depot did a 30+ minute feature on Ben's decision making in that game, and I am convinced that he stunk for 3 quarters more due to playing like a dumbass than being hurt.

He always does that after an injury that keeps him out a few games. Not sure what happens to him then.

No, maybe I'll look it up, though, thanks.

But like Goal Line stated, Ben always sucks coming back from injury, you can set your watch by it. And I'm not so sure Ben would have looked any better in the 4th qtr if Ravens didn't take their foot off the gas.

The game that intrigues me to no end is the Eagles game. I have zero clue what happened that day.

Truly the second worst output of a Tomlin led team I have ever seen since watching the Steelers in 2008 (that Oakland game will forever burn molten hot for me). As for the Ravens, I was not surprised.

Many Steelers fans ignore the fact that, regardless of talent level, Ravens-Steelers matchups are not ever guaranteed; nevermind any divisional matchup. Teams generally known strengths and weaknesses of each and it will come down to whoever wants it more than the other.

..... Of course stating that brings up the Tomlin detractors who want him out of here but I digress.

Ravens are gonna win more games than lose. It's gonna come down Xmas day game at Heinz Field, if the Steelers are lucky. Steelers will lay another egg in December... it's gonna happen. Let's just hope it's only one egg instead of 2 or 3.
