I was talking to my brother about Mendy's injury and how productive he could still be once he's back. I use Jamal Lewis as an example. I thought he was still good after the knee injury my brother says no. I know he ran for 2k, but was it before the injury or after?

I can't help you with the answer.

But even if it was after, that would make him the exception. Not the rule. Most of the time, a RB takes 2 full years to get completely back to form, if indeed they ever really do. Many are just done.

But every day / year medicine improves. There was a time when an ACL injury was a career ender more often than not regardless of position. Now it isn't except in extreme conditions. There's hope, but I think it's highly doubtful he'll be ready for the start of the season. And it's wildly optimistic to think he'll be as good as ever next season at all. I hope he is. There's not a lot of precedent for that unfortunately.

Not 100% positive but I believe that 2000 yd season was pre-injury.
