Good point but Juice also has hungry agents advising him so perhaps he needs to find either a better agent or refuse what his agent is telling him. No good can come from upsetting the front office and that includes Tomlin.

Exactly.. Game shape and working out on your own are two different animals. Just ask MB. He is finding out now what it means

Did you favorite this or something? :lolol:

What about the the rest of the offense sans AB and JJ that didnt hold out and looked like they did?

Id say it had more to do with Tomlin/Haley keeping Bell out of the game plan then his missing camp.

Did anyone ask them if they made a conscious effort to limit Bell's carries for "punishment" or was it just totally a case of "taking what was given"? Early in the game I really felt like they were purposely playing keep away from him and honestly Bell looked pretty dang detached and lethargic to me today. Just didn't seem "into it" or something like he normally does. Maybe I'm just reading too much in to it though. His body language just didn't seem all that upbeat to me I guess is what I'm saying.

I think you're on to something. Ben's never ready either. Probably has something to do with his preseason snaps.

My feelings on training camp is its for evaluating rookies and players on the roster bubble.

When they were trying to extend the season, they wanted to reduce training camp to 2 games. 4 games is overkill.

Exactly how it looked to me.

Tomlin quashed any thing about rust and consequences pretty quick at the press conference. Said they didn't have a run game when they were behind the chains and that's the story they should write.

I think it was a mixture of everything. I think the shot themselves in the foot with the penalties, I think the rust was there, Williams keying on him, stupid play calls.

Ironically the dumbest play of the game went to Bell. I'm talking about that 3rd and 21 draw. Plays like that absolutely infuriate me. I'd almost rather them just punt it on 3rd if they're gonna do that. I mean how often is that play from that down and distance successful? Obviously I'm the biggest Haley fanboy here but that was just unfathomably stupid.

Combination of Bell not being in football shape, penalties that brought back good runs he made, and some of the dumbest play calling I have ever seen, contributed to the perfect storm of suckiness for Bell. I have no doubt he will come back next week and be his usual self. As long as Tomlin doesn't **** it up which is always a possibility.

Last time I remember that it worked it was Redman on a 3rd. and 23 from deep in our on end . If another since then I don't recall.

I would rather they run the old RB pitch back to the QB . Make it look like a give up have the WR just look in at the RB and then run the 9 route . Put DHB on the other side as punt coverage have Ben throw it as high and far as he can . Either a big play incomplete or an effective punt if the Safety picks it off .

I couldn't watch the game, but the telling stats to me were AB 11 touches for 182 yards..... LB 13 touches 47 yards. LB didn't appear to be limited in play, it's just the offense sucked in the first half. Nobody outside of Ben, had the opportunity to make plays.... more than LB.

Nope it was the last time that the draw worked on 3rd. and long . And to the DHB part he would not be the 9 route that would be AB,Bryant, or Ju Ju. DHB would be the gunner on the play as he normally is on a regular punt .

The point was the draw rarely works I simply stated how long it has been since it worked and offered a alternate play that could work better or at worse be just like a punt .

Not sure how you got pimping out of that .

There's an article on CBS Sports that quotes Jason La Canfora as saying that the NFLPA thought the Steelers offer was fair. And we heard that his agent had agreed with the deal before Bell rejected it. The story says the offer was for $60 million over 5 years with $18 million the first year and $39 million over the first 3 years. That's some crazy money to turn down. Only time will tell if he screwed up by not taking it. My guess is he will regret it.

Id love to know if thats true or not. Id jump sides and trash Bell big time over that.

Usually, its the agent that messes things up so I normally cut the players some slack.
